"No. Absolutely not." Aizawa growled at Endeavor's suggestion, watching as his class completed a hostage course. "You know his condition. You know he can't be left alone, and with the two of you leaving for that mission-" "I've already got people who can take care of him. I'm not going to put your family under more stress." "We can handle one more." "I've got it covered. Now, don't you have patrol soon?" Endeavor walked off, smart enough to know when he was beat.
Aizawa sighed, running a hand through his hair. It was true, he and Mic were going to be gone for a few days, but he felt better leaving Shinsou with his class than he did Endeavor. Shinsou was comfortable around the other kids, and he could always ask Aimi for help, if need be. They'd never been separated for so long before, and Aizawa was nervous about how Shinsou would react.
Aizawa was drawn out of his thoughts by 1-A, who was walking out of the arena with the civilian dummy. "What was our time?" Ryuu asked. "Ten minutes and forty three seconds. You're getting faster." Aizawa felt a smile tug on his lips as his class cheered, Ryuu setting the doll in a seat. "Alright, calm down. I've got something to announce."
The students sat in the seats, looking at Aizawa. "As you know, Present Mic and I are going to be gone for a few days. What you may not know is that Taurus' attack has left Shinsou weak, and we don't feel comfortable leaving him on his own." A spike of fear dug itself into Ryuu's heart. Was Shinsou gonna be okay? "What are you going to do?" Kato asked. "One part of being a hero is caring for those you've saved. So, as an assignment, you're going to be caring for Shinsou as a class."
1-A looked at him in shock. "You're trusting us, the class known for the most trouble, to care for Shinsou?" Ryuu asked. "Yes. He'll be moved into your dorms for the duration of the mission, so you have better access to him. I expect to see him in one piece when I come back. Now, go back and get them ready. We leave in twenty two hours." The class scrambled back, eager to have Shinsou with them for a week.
Aizawa carried Shinsou over the next day, tucking him into the extra dorm room the students had prepared. "Hizashi and I will be gone for a few days, then we'll be back. 1-A will be taking care of you until we get back. If you need anything, just tell them, okay?" Shinsou nodded, wrapping his arms around Aizawa's neck. He didn't want the older to go.
Shinsou watched as his dads left, Pawlson snuggled into his lap. Shinsou didn't know why, but tears were welling up in his eyes, and they wouldn't stop. He wanted them back. He knew he'd have to get over this, get used to them leaving him behind, but it hurt. Deep down, it felt like they were leaving him again.
Shinsou grabbed his pillow, hiding his face in it as the tears spilled over. This...wasn't right. He wasn't supposed to get attached to them. He was supposed to stay distanced, so this didn't happen. So it didn't hurt when they finally left him.
Arms wrapped around his shoulders, pulling him against someone's chest. "I know, Sho. I know." Ryuu's voice whispered, holding onto the boy like he was glass. He knew what it felt like, to have someone you love leave.
