Hey everyone. This would be the first part of the Valentines' Day oneshot I planned for this whole week. The IZ*ONE members to be featured here were the ones whom you voted a month ago. This one will focus on Chaewon. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Valentine's Day.
The season where love is in the air, and an occasion that couples always look forward to celebrate.
Even at your school, you can feel that same romantic aura all around you.
Despite the fact that the actual day has yet to come, you'd be too ignorant if you don't realize that everyone is anticipating it.
The girls, in particular, are busy gossiping amongst themselves as to which guy they wanted to give their chocolate to. The squeals and blushes on their faces while they are talking about it made it all the more awkward once you look at them.
As for the guys, it's a win or lose situation, and for obvious reasons. It's a win for the ones who are popular, like the typical jock or rich guy who has a lot of girls fawning over them. It's a loss for the rest of the guys who can only wait in agony the whole day without getting anything.
Having said this, will this year be more kind to you or not?
The answer to that question doesn't even matter for you. Why?
It's because you don't really care about it, that's the reason.
You're always like this. You'll be just content being a regular student who just wants to spend the rest of his school days in peace. You don't care whether you get a girlfriend or not, as the thought of having one would simply be a bother to you.
In other words, Valentine's Day holds no special meaning to you.
What you don't know is that this year, things will be a little different than before.
You never thought that such a thing happening to you would change your way of thinking as to what it's all about.
But like all things, it always comes with a challenge.
With just two days before Valentine's Day, the school looked much livelier than usual. Walking past the school gates, you saw many couples entering the campus as they talk about their plans for the occasion. You, on the other hand, are busy reading a book as you walk, not minding the unpleasant scenery around you.
"Yah, you should try and pay attention while you walk, Y/N. You can read that book once we get to the classroom." Your friend, Jongho, said as he catches up to you.
"I'm fine, Jongho. I may not seem like it, but I'm actually paying attention to my surroundings as I read this. Don't underestimate me." You said to him as you continue reading.
"That's not what I meant. Look around you, can't you see that love is in the air?" He said with a grin.
"Yeah, yeah, like I care. You and I both know that nothing special would happen to us during Valentine's Day. I'm used to it by now."
