56B. Bittersweet Pt. 2 (Yujin/Yuna)

Part 2 of acehanyoung's request.

"Wow, this looks great!" Yujin said while looking at the food you've ordered for the two of you.

"I'm glad to hear you say that, Yujin-ah. I made sure to pick a restaurant that has most of your favorite foods available. This one had almost everything you like, so I'm happy that you love it here." You happily said to her.

"Thank you. It's been a while since we hung out, so I take it you're going all-out just to make it special today, huh?" She teased.

"I wouldn't say it like that, though. I just want to celebrate today, since I'm just happy that you offered me this chance to spend time together like before. Consider it my way of saying thanks to you." You answered.

"I should be the one thanking you, Y/N. Even now, I still feel guilty over abandoning you for so long. But then, you made all this effort just for my sake." She said while pouting.

"Yah, stop thinking about it anymore, Yujin-ah. What's important is that you're here with me now, and that we're both about to have a great time today. That said, time to dig in. We both don't want the food to get cold." You told her, as you began filling your bowl with the soup.

"You're right. Everything smells good! I can't decide which one I should eat first. Well, I'll start with the pork cutlets for now." Yujin said as she began filling her plate with the meat dish.

Together, you and Yujin shared a hearty meal, while talking about all the things that happened in your school lives so far. It goes to say that the two of you are having a good time, and you were happy that Yujin is back to you, ready to be by your side like a true friend would.

However, what you didn't notice is that someone had been keeping an eye on the two of you from outside. It was Yuna, who is deeply worried about you and Yujin getting back together. She had known for a while that Yujin is your best friend for a long time. Once she left you for her new friends, Yuna thought that this could be her chance to get close to you. From then on, she succeeded in becoming a friend of yours, even though you initially tried to avoid her at first. She was there when you needed a friend, who's ready to talk to you anytime.

Yuna hoped that one day, she would be the one to replace Yujin as your best friend, while secretly hoping that it would lead to something more.

Her feelings for you gradually became real, and by the time you became comfortable with each other, there was no trace of doubt that she likes you as more than a friend.

Everything was going well, until today happened.

Yujin suddenly returning back to your side ruined it all for her, and her dream of becoming your girlfriend shattered in the blink of an eye.

The more she continues to watch the two of you, the more pain she felt.

The way you smile at Yujin as you talk to her, gave her nothing but pain in her heart.

The moment you wiped a stain on Yujin's face made her wish that she's the one being treated with your care.

Finally, the simple moments when you tease each other in front of her, made her wish that she's in her place instead.

She was about to leave, knowing that there's no hope for her anymore.

She's ready to accept that after today, you and Yujin are going to be in a real relationship, and there's no changing that fact.

Yet somehow, a part of her still remains that she had to see it through, no matter how painful the outcome will be.

With a heavy heart, she followed you after you got out of the restaurant, as she saw you gently holding Yujin's hand.
