108. Escape (Minnie)

This story is loosely inspired by a (G)I-DLE song of the same title, which Minnie herself wrote. I hope you enjoy reading this one.

"Okay, looks like everything's ready. Time to start our day together then." You said with confidence, right after you made sure that your car's condition is completely fine.

You wanted your day with your girlfriend Minnie to be as perfect as possible, and doing this was an obvious step into making it so.

Just then, you saw her slowly walking towards the side of your vehicle, along with the basket of meals that she had prepared for the two of you to consume later.

"Well, we have everything we need, Y/N. Now tell me, where exactly are we going today?" She asked again, for she spent the entire night before by asking you all sorts of questions about today's itinerary.

"I told you, it's a secret, Minnie-ya. For now at least. But trust me. By the time we get there, you're going to love it."

"Hmm. Fine then. You better not disappoint me today." She replied in a somewhat challenging tone, though you are confident that you're going to meet her high vacation standards like you always do.

"I won't. Now shall we get going?"

"Sure! I'm actually excited for today, to be honest!"

Just like a caring gentleman, you opened the passenger car door for her, as she slowly took her seat beside you for the long road ahead.

Once you made sure she's comfortable enough, you then hopped into the driver's seat, ready to start your day trip with Minnie.

As for the reasons that led you into planning this one-day vacation for her, well, it all started when you saw her in a very stressful state just a few days prior.

Upon arriving at the high-end apartment that the two of you share, you were expecting her to welcome you at the door, with her appearing before you in her usual bright and cheerful mood that you see every time she greets you, which was enough to make you feel happy after a long day of work.

However, your feelings of anticipation was then replaced with distraught the moment you saw her sitting idly in front of the mini-bar counter, while holding a bottle of whiskey that you bought for her during one of your dinner dates together.

Granted, this wasn't the first time something like this happened, for you still remember the time when she did the same thing after she encountered a problem with one of her subordinates during her work.

Whenever she feels fatigued towards any situation, Minnie often resorts to her drinking habits, which she still does to this day even though you already advised her not to do so anymore.

But after her recent attempt at drinking her problems away, you ought to try and find a solution for her not to do the same thing again, which led you to this idea of taking her for a day out the following weekend.

"All right, that's it. I'm throwing this bottle right this instant, Minnie-ya. I thought I told you that drinking this stuff won't do you any good in the long run." You said with a stern expression on your face, though Minnie didn't feel intimidated by it.
