Here I am once again at the Smiths house, with Richard next to me happily eating the pancakes that Beth had made for us upon our arrival. I stared at my knees in slight annoyance as I focused in on the thread patterns on my jeans, needing a ride to work as I had forgotten my portal gun since Rick had pulled Rich and I through a portal without warning. I dug my fingers into the backs of my hands, contemplating on what I would do to save my skin for my recent job, pressing my forehead against the surface of the table. 'It has to be my second one at least! Should I ask Beth? No, she made us breakfast. I don't wanna leach off of her kindness. And definitely not Jerry. Hell. I'll be dead in a ditch before we can even make it down the street. And I'd DEFINATELY end up dead in some wormhole if I ask the old man for a ride. Maybe Summer can drive me there. We do work at the same creepy old shop. God Mr. Needful is so gonna kill me!-' "Y/N you good over there? You haven't touched your food." Beth said sweetly as she placed her hand on my shoulder before rubbing my back in a sort of motherly way. "She's probably gotta take a shit." "Not at all old man. I'm just a bit stressed Beth, there's nothing to worry about. Thanks for your concern though." I said politely as I sat up straight and began to cut at the pancakes. "Fuckin' suck up." Rick mumbled from across the table as he continued working on an all too familiar robot. "What was that old man." I said through gritted teeth as I kicked Rick in the shin as hard as I could, making him wince in sudden pain before kicking me back, surprisingly not as hard as I thought he would considering he's an asshole.

"Hey Rick, I have to make a project for the science fair this weekend. You think you could help me out?" Morty chimed as he walked into the dining room giving me a small smile as he noticed my presence. I chuckled to myself and smiled back before shoving a wad of pancakes into my mouth. "Whatever." Rick said boredly as sparks flew from the robot in his hands. "Well, um, traditionally science fairs are a father-son thing." Jerry intervened as he set his tablet down, obviously wanting to prove he has some sort of intelligence to Morty. "Well, scientifically, traditions are an idiot thing." Rick shot down. "What about you Y/N? Your just as smart." Morty asked trying not to get caught into his dads antics as he looked at me hopefully. "Sorry dude I can't. I've got to get to work soon. If anything turns up and I've got time, I'll work on something for ya." I apologized as as I shoved another bite of food into my mouth, glancing over as Beth began typing on her phone. "Morty, I think it will be fun for you to work on a science project with your dad." She intervened as she sent the text and sat her phone down, smiling up at Morty who's phone rung. He gave it a quick glance before putting it away and clearing his throat. "Yeah, dad, why don’t we do it together?" "Yes! You backed the right horse on this one, son! We’ll get out the crayons, brew some coffee and knock this thing out in two or three days." Jerry said triumphantly before going back to his game as Rick finished his robot instructing it on its purpose as it passed him the butter leaving Morty to exit the room as Summer replaced his spot. "Ya ready N/N?" Summer asked as she smiled down at me. I nodded vigorously a I stood up from my seat and wiped off my mouth with a napkin grabbing my bag from Richard who handed it to me. I quickly put my dishes into the sink and made my way over to Summers side smiling at Richard as a small thank you. "Dad, we need a ride to work." Summer said as she linked her arm with mine after I had slipped my bag on, not thinking much about it as I look down at my phone scrolling through Rumblr. "Maybe Rick can give you a ride. I’m helping Morty with science." Jerry said proudly before looking over at Rick. "I’m busy." The old man intervened as he stared down at his food boredly. "Doing what?" "Uh, anything else?" I slightly chuckled to myself as the two glared at each other menacingly. "What is my purpose?" The poor robot asked as he looked up at Rick who looked at it boredly. "You pass butter." "Oh my god." It said in a defeated tone looking at itself. "Welcome to the club pal." Rick said as he ate a bite of his food. I felt slightly bad for the robot as I looked at it a weird electric wave feeling going through me sending a chill down my spine. 'Must have to be the start of the intro..' "Cheer up dude. At least you know what your purpose is unlike me." I laughed as the robot perked up at my words before rolling over the stick of butter almost as if it wanted me to take it. Chuckling to myself I picked up the porcelain dish holding the butter and smiled. "Thank you." I said with a small laugh only to be suddenly pulled away, causing me to drop the stick of butter on Jerry's lap. "Hey!" "I'd say sorry but I'm not!" I shouted as I was dragged through the garage door accompanied by two different laughs. "Alright you shits, get in the ship. Anyone not related to me sits in the back." Rick said as he stared right at me. "You could have just told me old man." I grumbled as I crawled into the back seat, watching as the other two piled in after me, the ship soon quickly taking off.
