"I really can't cope with this teacher anymore!" Fred groaned into his hands one morning at breakfast. "First Quidditch, then this stupid six foot rule for boys and girls and these stupid, torture detentions." He stammered. "How much more."
The previous week, Umbridge had banned Fred, George and Harry from playing quidditch, took their brooms aways into her office to keep them from disobeying the rules. They had all gotten into a fight with Draco after he had said quite a few rude things about the Weasleys and their mum. The teacher had also managed to keep her position of headmistress and before hand fired Professor Trelawny, it was horrible really the teacher stood their in tears whilst McGonagall attempted in comforting her. That resulted in the students new divination teacher being a centaur, well that was Dumbledores decision before he had been run down, who knows if he was going to stay or not.
Sophie and Draco still hadn't spoken since that night in the corridor, nor had they even looked at each other. He had moved seats in potions and Hermione had gladly filled his spot.
O.W.Ls were next week which meant the students were stressing, Sophie had tried to owl Remus for advice but her new head teacher had banned them sending mail in and out of Hogwarts.
"At least this is your last year." Ginny huffed from beside the whining boy. "I've still got three years."
"I don't think I can make it till the end of the year George." His twin gushed finally lifting his head from his hands. "Do you?"
"I'm glad you asked brother." George smirked "I think we should go out with a bang this year."
"I was thinking exactly the same thing." Fred nodded, the pair of them continued to talk back and forth ignoring the confusing glares from Sophie and the rest of their friends.
"What've we got next?" Ron asked from behind a copy of the daily prophet.
"I have transfiguration." Harry slouched further into his seat.
"Astronomy, I'm gonna leave now get an extra head start on walking up the tower." Sophie smiled jumping up from her seat, astrology was one of the only things she enjoyed at school, that along with care of the magical creatures. She placed a quick kiss on her boyfriends cheeks before strolling out of the great hall.
"Wait for me!" A recognisable but not utterly familiar voice asked from behind the girl. "I'm in your class, I'll walk with you." Smiled Neville.
"Course longbottom." Sophie cheered throwing her arm around the boys shoulders causing a blush to creep its way onto his face. "How are you?"
"Alright I suppose, this new teacher isn't going by us any justice though." He complained with a shrug.
"Tell me about it, she's driving me insane." The girl scrunched up her hands into a fist before shaking them vigorously.
"I can't wait till this years over, I feel like these exams are going to be the death of me." The bit vented as they started their trip up the many stairs of the astronomy tower.
"Tell me about it Neville, tell me about it."
Classes went by as usual, only they had been barricaded with homework due to getting last minute studying in for their exams. Sophie was sat within piles amongst piles of books in the library when two red head boys sat beside her, large grins on their faces.
"I wouldn't worry too much about your defence against the dark arts exam." George shrugged taking a random book from the girls pile and flicking through the pages.
"Oh yeah." The girl hugged snatching back the book, "and why's that?"
"I don't know." Fred shrugged, "it's a surprise Soph." He kissed her forehead.
"I don't like surprises." Sophie shrugged copying an example of how to brew an Amortentia potions down onto her thick pile of parchment. "What are you two planning?"
"Promise you won't hate me?" Fred asked sticking his pinky finger out.
"And that's my cue." George smiled standing up and patting the table before leaving the library.
Sophie lifter her pinky intertwining it with his before nodding, "promise."
"We're leaving."
"I know." The girl tilted her head in confusion. She knew Fred and George were leaving, it was their last year but she didn't assume it would change anything between them, did he? Would it?
"No you don't understand" Fred shook his head. "We can't stand this teacher anymore and besides we don't need our N.E.W.Ts, not for the future we're planning."
"So what does this mean?" She asked closing her book, her full attention on her boyfriend who was sat beside her. "When are you leaving?"
"Next week" he nodded.
"And how are you planning that?"
"It's a secret." He smiled watching the girl carefully as if he could see the clogs ticking in her brain.
"As long as you know what your doing, then I don't see why it should be a problem." The girl shrugged. "Your mums going to kick your arse though, the pair of you."
"Oh we're well aware." He grinned, it's almost as if he liked his mother shouting at him. But Sophie had seen Molly when she was angry she couldn't understand why any one would like being yelled at by Mrs Weasley. "She'll probably kick us out, but that won't be a problem. We have a place of our own now anyway."
"And you failed to mention this to me why?" Sophie raised an eyebrow at the boy.
"The money you gave us, well you know we already bought the slot at Diagon Alley. But an apartment came with it, right upstairs." He scratched the back of his neck unaware how the girl would act to him moving out and starting his own career at the age of seventeen.
Sophie herself was only fifteen, she knew it would be hard to be with Fred when he left hogwarts and she stayed for another two years but now that he had a job. His own shop for that matter, would it be even more hard?
"I'm proud of you." She smiled. "You already know what you want to do, you have for years and I'm happy your going through with it Fred as long as you think it's best I'll support you on that." Her smiled faded into a bit of a thrown.
"What, what's the matter?" He asked picking up on the girls awkwardness.
"Where does that leave us?" She bit her lip subconsciously, she loved Fred and she didn't want that to suffer because of their age difference. She couldn't leave school as well but she couldn't expect him to wait for her.
"What do you mean Soph?" He asked grabbing her small hands with his. "I hope nothing changes between us, I know it'll be weird because you here and I'm out there but that doesn't mean our feelings for each other are going to change." The boy paused. "Does it?"
"No of course not." Sophie smiled hugging the boy, the stress slowly floating away. "I just didn't know how you felt about it is all."
Fred hugged Sophie back tightly ignoring the awkward glances that the other students were giving them. "This was never going to change our relationship Soph, I love you and two years isn't going to stop that."
"I love you too Fred."
Awe sentimental :)
