It's was utter chaos. Stumbling through the wrecked halls as she tried to keep balance, twisting her ankles on the many out of place rocks that littered the corridors. She heard screams from every crevice, grunts of fallen wizards and witches. Passing numerous students she had never interacted with before but seem rummaging around the school grounds, sadness took over her emotions, she couldn't believe what was happening. It was awful, teenagers being forced to fight for their lives, not only to protect themselves but their families too, teachers forced to watch upon the tragedy that was attacking their students.

Trying to steady her stamina as much as possible she turned down the hall and made a break for the stairs, it was the safest option to get down, rather then jumping through a crack in the floors. She neared the end of the hall, careful not to slide in the dust that spread the floors like snow over a grassy hill. Reaching for her jeans pocket where her wand lay she pulled on the handle in attempt to hold it high in her hand. With a confused look she knelt her head to view her pocket, the dumb belt hold was twister around the wand, grunting she tried her best to let it three.

She was taken aback when a sharp pebbles flew at her, cutting a straight line below her eye. Stumbling backwards at the impact she wiped new blood from her cheek. Confused at who the attacker was before a hooded figure came closer.

"Long time no see old pal," a very familiar voice whispered. The wind flew fiercely through the cracked window, Sophie picking up a sent of blood and almost, wet dog. Her eyes widened as she caught sight of the moving figure down the hall.

"Trying to help your brother are you?" He asked with a grim smirk, getting closer and closer until she had to start backing up. "I truly thought you wouldn't be a problem tonight, you know considering I," he tilted his head, "poisoned you."

"Mason," she breathed in a stutter, her back had hit the cold wall, rocks falling beside her causing a dusty bubble to incase the two.

"Remember me?" He bared his grim teeth, the werewolf trait getting to him too much as the scent of meat and dirt littered his mouth. "You know we're both out for you, and your dear Lupin."

She blinked, he was talking about Fenrir and she knew that. "Why," she sounded weakly.

"Why?" he laughed. "Did you not hear about your dear Moonys father, you know nothing about why your grand father is a werewolf in the first place?"

Biting back her lip the girl knew tears were threatening to leak, but they were to close for them to fall and him not notice. She had to be brave, no matter how many times he had nearly killed her she had to fight through. Reaching her hand down sneakily behind her, grabbing her wand for her pocket she tried to yank it multiple times, listening to her old friend at the same time.

"Imaging how proud Greyback will be when he finds out I killed you," he laughed maniacally, "one of his main targets tonight, imagine."

"You don't have to do this mason," she grunted, still trying to untangle her wand. "You can still change you mind now, join me, help me I'll protect you from him."

Mason looked right into her green eyes, searching for a truth and a lie he could weigh out. He licked his lips slowly, moving a strand of hair behind her ear. "You can't even save yourself," he laughed. "Your doomed, no one is here to save you and your struggling to get your own wand." He laughed before shooting a spell to the side, nocking her wand from her pocket and sending it flying.

He laughed before using his own to prod at her neck, "you were a really good friend. Say hello to Cedric for me," he said in a disgusted town as he pulled back his wand and began to utter a spell.

"Reducto!" Someone yelled from behind, smashing the boy into solid stone.

Breath hitching in her throat Sophie's hand flew up to her neck where the pressure had previously been. Footsteps were heard from down the hall as someone got closer and closer in a hurry, Sophie squinted her eyes, ready for the spell, ready for death to take her as his own.

"Sophie!" Yelled the voice of Draco Malfoy.
