Chapter 19

Lucas Pov:

He stared at Via, as she scanned Nathan's files. Is she really wants to help him? Or she just a curious because Nathan's is a mysterious guy and the fact that he's a good looking guy.

"Oh?" Nabalik ang attensyon niya kay Via.

"You looked disappointed." He lean over the table. Amused niyang tinignan ang reaksyon nito.

"What?"

"You were expecting for his personal contact. It's written all over you face." Napangisi siya nang mabilis itong lumingon sa kaniya. Nakakunot ang noo nito. Halatlang halatang umiinit na ang ulo nito sa sinabbi niya.

"Alam mo kung ano ano napapansin mo." Irap nito. Napatawa nalang siya at muli niyang tinignan ang reaksyon nito. Did she saw?

He smiled, when he saw her stopped for a moment. napansin na siguro niya.

"Wait is this--" Tumingin ito sa kaniya, hindi niya parin tinatanggal ang ngiti sa labi. "You already knew about this, about his guardians? His auntie is the famous actress! tapos kilalang politician rin ang uncle niya?"

He shrugged his shoulder, "Sino ba nagsabi na hindi ko alam ang bagay na 'yan?" Dumikwatro siya sa harap nito.

"You should've told me that!" Bulyaw ni Via. How cute.

"Why would I? That's his personal information, I'm not you who would stole someone's private information for the sake of love, and well I called it obsession since you can't get over with it." He said, smirking at her.

She didn't say anything afterwards. He felt guilty, did he when overboard?

Naputol ang pagaalitan nila ng tumunog ang chimes ng pintuan kaya parehas silang napalingon doon. Agad na napansin niya ang pagtunggo ng mata ni Nathan kay Via.

Napakunot ang noo niya. What's with the tension here? Did they fight? Oh? Could it be? Lovers quarrel? ohhh~

Anyway he needs to break the ice between them.

"Oh, you're already here! My handsome subordinate." Sinalubong niya sa Nathan. Inakbayan niya ito patunggo sa counter. "You're early today. Anyway you should change and help me do the cleaning before we open the shop." Tinulak niya ito papasok sa loob ng staff room.

"Whew!" Nilingon niya ang pwesto ni Via. Napataas siya ng kilay dahil nakasukbit na nag bag nito at papaalis niya.

"Hang on. Where are you going?"

"To school?" Napakunot ang noo niya sandali. Did they really fight?

"Won't you say hi to Nathan, I thought you were friends?"

"Maybe later." She said and leave. Mababa ang boses nito. Maybe may alitan nga nag dalawa.

He just standing there staring at Via until he couldn't see her shadow, the chimes at the door rang doon napukaw ang atensyon niya ng mga pumasok ng mga iilang customer. Napabuga nalang siya ng hininga. Well, that's their problems I shouldn't meddle with them.

"Hi, Welcome. Agad na bati niya sa mga pumasok."

Nathan's Pov

Why is she here? Why does she know's his manager? Is that why she knew that he's working here?

Muling bumalik sa alala niya ang nadatnang scene kanina pagdating niya, Their faces are so close to each other. Their atmosphere are happy like they've known each other for such a long time.

Napatigil siya sa pagbotton ng cafe uniform, when he felt a pang inside his chest. He knows where to stand and what limits he have to do, he can't make a decision by himself, he knew that if he admitted his feelings and let himself drown by it, he knows that people around him would suffer.

He sigh and finish changing.

Pagkalabas niya marami-rami na nag customer sa loob ngunit agad na hinanap ng mata niya ang presensiya ni Via.

"She already left." nagulat siya ng tumabi sa kaniya si Sir Lucas. "She told me that you were classmate, about uhm..was it three weeks ago? When she asked you where do you lived, she seems worried that time."

Bago pa niya naitanong, kung pano nito nalaman na magkakilala sila ni Via ay nasagot na nito ang tanong niya. He couldn't process what Sir lucas was saying.

"Did you told here where I lived?" His heart is pumping so hard. There's a possibility that his auntie saw her--

"Of course not, I'm not in the position to give your personal to the person I barely know." He felt relief after his first sentence.

"I thought you know each other for a long time, you seems close to each other." He mumbled his last words.

"Hahaha, mukhang hindi nalang, she's wary of me."

"Ah excuse me."

Naputol ang paguusap nila nang may mag order na customer. throughout the day they didn't talk, more on casual conversation lang ng isang employee at employer. Dahil na rin siguro sa busy at maraming tao ngayon sa cafe.

Ipinunas niya nag mga kamay sa hand cloth malapit sa kaniya ng maramdaman niyang kinalabit siya ng Sir Lucas. Mabilis na lumingon siya rito.

"You can take a break for a minute, kakaunti lang naman ang mga tao ngayong oras. I already ordered a lunch for you."

"How about you--"

"I already take lunch while you're cleaning."

Nagpasalamat nalang siya at nagpaalam. Bibilisan nalang niyang kumain para hindi siya sagabal rito.

He take off his apron and put it inside his locker. paupo na sana siya sa lamesa ng marinig niya ang ringtone ng phone niya. Muli siyang tumayo at kinuha ang phone.

'Come home at 5, go straight to my play room.'

He jerked and trembles as he read the message. His legs almost weakened because of it. No, not again! I need a break. I need to escape just for tonight. Where? Where should I stay--?

"Nathan, could you come for a bit?" He startled when someone called his name. Mabilis niyang binura ang weird expression sa mukha niya. Mabilis niyang kinuha ang phone na nalaglag pala kanina at mabilis na inilagay ito sa tabi ng pagkain niya.

"Sorry to interrupt your lunch, I really need to pee, could you watch the counter for a sec?"

"Yea, it's okay. I haven't eaten yet."

"Cool." Mabilis na kumaripas ito ng takbo pamuntang staff room.

Huminga muna siya ng malalim, to clear out his mind. He needs to know where he could stay. Hindi siya pwedeng magbook ng hotel or motel dahil alam niyang malalaman pa rin iyon ng auntie niya at bago pa siya makaisang oras doon nasugod na siya ng mga bodyguard nito.

Mabilis na sumagi sa isip niya si Via. No, he cannot do that to Via. She mustn't involve to the likes of him. And he can't rely and be indebted to her.

Or maybe he can stay at the cafe, just until morning since he has classes. He can asked Sir Lucas after his duty.

Dumaan ang ilang oras natapos na rin ang shift niya, at closing na sila. Naglilinis nalamang siya ng mga equipments. Habang si SIr Lucas naman ay nag iinventory.

Hinigpitan niya ang hawak niyang mop sabay lingon sa pwesto ni Sir Lucas. Kanina pa niya iniisip kung pano siya magsasabi rito.

"What?" Napatalon siya ng biglang magsalita si SIr Lucas nang hindi siya tinitignan. "I can feel your stare every damn minute."

"Sorry."

"So, what is it? Alam ko may nais kang sabihin. Let it out." Itinigil nito ang pagsusulat at tuminggin sa niya.

"Uhm, could I stay here tonight?"
