"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence"

You sang softly strumming the string of the guitar you had got as a gift from your brother-in-law Arthur.

"In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence"

The cool autumn breeze blew as you sang on the Astronomy Tower.

"And in the naked light, I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence"

Stars twinkled above as sweet voice came from you.

"'Fools', said I, 'You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you'
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence"

A person was watching you from behind, awestruck at your voice.

"And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, 'The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls'
And whispered in the sound of silence"

As you sang the last verse, you heard a soft clapping from behind you. You turned around to see a handsome boy with sparkling grey eyes and curly black hair. Regulus Black. You knew Regulus from most of your classes. He was a Slytherin, in your year, a pureblood who often hanged out with Mulciber and Avery, but never joined them with their bullying.

"Were you there the whole time?" You asked.

"Almost, I was doing my prefect rounds when I heard an angelic voice up here, so naturally, I came to explore."

I felt my cheeks turning pink at his description of my voice as 'angelic'. I cleared my throat and said " Oh.. Do you want to join me? It is cool up here and the sight is beautiful too- that is- if you want to."

He nodded with a soft smile on his face as he walked towards me and took a seat next to me. I saw as his shiny black hair blew towards his eyes by the wind and then I averted my gaze when I realized that I had been staring. We sat sat like that till Merlin knows how long, But little did either of us know that this was the start of a beautiful friendship- and maybe more, just because of a meeting in the Astronomy Tower.
