A couple more months passed and it was time for the baby to arrive.

This pain was excruciating but he was there to comfort me and hold my hand as I delivered this baby.

I screamed and pushed and screamed and pushed till there it was. The tiny human being I saw with my eyes for the first time ever.

"My beautiful baby girl"

I remember my eyes closing and my breath stopped in that moment.

                 -              Tristans POV          -

"Can I hold her?" I asked the nurse.

I looked down at this beautiful baby. She had her mother's eyes and her fathers nose.

Tears filled my eyes in this amazing moment until—

"We're losing her!!" The nurse screamed.

Nova's eyes were closed and I didn't see her move. The other nurse took the baby from my hands and carried it to lay it down.

"What is happening!?" I asked. I was panicking.

"Sir I ask that you remain calm. We are handling it. Can you please wait outside. We need them to handle it with full focus" said the doctor.

As I walked out the room, I was pacing back and forth and watched from the blinds and they tried to get Nova to breathe again.

After a while, the doctor came out,

"I'm sorry sir. Your wife passed away. The birth process was too much for her. We are truly sorry."

"No no no no no no NOOOOOOO!!!"

I couldn't help but break down and punch and kick everything within reach.

No— n— Nova was gone. How am I going to do this by myself? Huh?

The love of my life passed away!

The nurse guided me to the room with my baby.
There she was rapped in a small blanket and a hat covering her head. I took her up gently.

"Daddy's here."  I said.

This baby made me felt relieved for a moment.

This baby was a second chance. She had her mother's eyes and her father's nose.

"I'm here, my darling. My little—Nova"

She will have her mother's name. I will raise her to be beautiful and kind like her mother was.

"My little Nova" I said, raising her up.
