johnny was dead.
your brother was gone.
your best friend was dead.

dallas couldn't believe it.
johnny was gone.
one of the only people he cared about was dead. (he cared about ponyboy and don't tell me otherwise)

y/n and dallas looked at each other with understanding in both of their eyes.

they both got up and left.

they walked silently down the road. they were both sporting cut lips from the rumble before.

light blood stains on their clothes were visible in the dim light.

they both had tear marks running down their faces.

they were numb.

broken.

hurt.

defeated.

they needed johnny.
but johnny was gone.

they saw a store.
it was shining brightly in the dark.
they knew what to do.
they looked at each other and entered.

they knew what was about to happen. they knew this was going to be the end.
and they smiled at each other.

yes, they smiled.
they had accepted their death years ago.

they were two broken souls.

one of whom was getting fixed by a certain man; darrel curtis.

however were you too broken to be fixed?

whilst the other was only holding on by thin strands.
the cades.

johnny cade was gone.
y/n cade was going.

those strands have broken.

it took the boys months to accept your deaths.
they all lost something that night.
part of their souls were gone forever.

it had been a year.

four of the remaining five boys were all sitting around the table at the curtis' in silence.
however that silence was broken by two-bit, opening the door and coming in.
"um guys, i found something," two-bit spoke softly.
they all turned to face two-bit, with zero expression shown on their faces.
"i didn't open it, but i found this in
y/n's coat pocket, you know? the one she left at the hospital?" two-bit continue, with tears prickling his eyes.

"they wrote us a letter," two-bit concluded.

indeed they did, y/n wrote a letter.
