~ L I L A ~
The smell of lasagna filled my nose as I walked through the doors of my house. Furrowing my eyebrows, I close the door and walk towards the kitchen. "Grandma!" My eyes light up as I toss my bag to the ground and rush over towards her. Embracing eachother in a warm hug. "Oh hi my little flower, I've missed you so much," she says pressing a kiss to my cheek as we release each other. "What's it been a year?" she questions holding me by my shoulders and studying me. "Just about," I smile. Grandma Liz was moms mother, the only living grandparent I had from both sides. She was the one who inspired me to start drawing and painting. "What a beautiful necklace, where did you get it?" Grandma asks stating at the necklace, a slight mischievous look in her eyes. "I found the stone in the backyard last week, made it into a necklace," I smile proudly. "So it wasn't a gift from a certain blonde boy?" she questions making me blush. "Grandma I told you a thousand times, Ryan and I are just friends," I say making her sigh. For some reason, my grandma had always hoped me and Ryan would end up together but we never felt that way about eachother.

"Oh alright, any other guys or girls I should know about?" she questions. I shake my head at her. "I'm to focused on cheer and school to get in a relationship grandma," I answer. "None sense, there's always time for love," she says walking over to the beeping oven and taking out the lasagna that I presume she made guessing off the ingredients that were on the counter. "Why your parents were in middle school when they met and look at them now," she says looking up at me. "Traveling while their daughter is home alone most days," I answer making her face fall. "Why figlia, your parents just want to be able to provide for you, you know how much they love you," Grandma says. "Well it doesn't feel like it most days," I mutter grabbing my bag off the ground. "I'm gonna go take a shower," I tightly smile at grandma before heading upstairs to my room.

As much as I love my parents, sometimes it felt like I was alone. I mean I barely saw them anymore, and when I did see them it was only for a day before they were off for another business trip. With a sigh, I strip out of my clothes and into the shower, turning the knobs for the water on. "I just wish they would stay home for this whole school what instead of being gone," I whisper, closing my eyes as the water hits me. Unbeknownst to me as my eyes were closed, the stone on my necklace glew as the words left my mouth...
