Poisoned [Korrasami]

Chapter 6

*Asami's pov*

"If we won't get the cure soon....... Then Korra will die."

When I heard these words I felt like the whole world stopped she can't die, she just.... can't. I felt tears forming in my eyes

"Asami I-"

"No s-she can't, we have to do something"

"I'm sorry, I know she's your friend but I tried everything, I managed to lower her pain so she doesn't have to suffer so much but that's all I can do" Katara sighed

"Thank you" I wiped away the tears and nodded

I sighed and walked past them back into Korra's room, not knowing what my eyes will meet with. I knocked on the door and entered, Korra was asleep but it hasn't seemed like she was doing better, the oxygen mask was still on her face and she was still pale.

"Hello Asami" Senna said

"Hey, how is she?"

"I would say better, but that's just a matter of time." she sighed and Tonraq looked at me

"You said you were here with here past few days?" he asked and looked at my so-called "bed" on the floor then on my table

"Yeah I couldn't just leave her side knowing that she's not doing well" I sighed and I looked at Korra then I went over to my table "I got some work to finish but you can stay I don't mind" I sat down and started working on it

"I am willing to leave my daughter alone here with you Asami, I know you can take care of you and we are pretty tired from the journey here" Senna said as her and Tonraq stand up

"If it's not a problem for you" Tonraq added

"Of course not, I'll make sure she's okay, you guys should get some rest" I smiled at them

"Thank you so much Asami, we really appreciate it," Senna said and with that they walked out and I continued doing my job

After a few hours I was done and I saw it was already dark outside, I looked over at Korra and she was still asleep, at least she doesn't have to suffer, Katara said she relieved her pain a little. I sighed again and went over to her bed, I sat down into a chair that was next to her bed, I held her hand, she was still warm but it seemed like the fever went down a little thank the spirits. I sighed in relief and rested my head on the edge of the bed still holding her hand.

I was lying there for a while, thinking about everything that has happened and that what is happening right now, I just hope we'll find the cure soon, she can't die, I need her...

My thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock on the door, I sat up straight not letting go of Korra's hand

"come in" I said but kept looking on the sleeping beauty in front of me- wait what?

"Hello Asami" it was Kya "I came to check up on her and talk to you"

"talk to me? What about?" I asked as I watched her walk over Korra, she placed her hand over her forehead

"she doesn't have a fever anymore, at least something got better" she sighs and sits down. We both watch Korra's chest rise and fall for a little, even when she had the mask on, she struggled to breathe.

"You have a feelings for her, don't you?" she chuckles and I turn red

"W-what?"

"My gaydar never failed me Asami"

"You have a gaydar? But I thought only-"

"Only gay people have it, yes I'm gay" she chuckles and I sigh in relief

"You are the second person that figured it out today, seriously, is it that obvious?"

"maybe a little" she smiles we were silent for a while and again, the only thing hearable was Korra's slow breathing

"She'd be really grateful"

"huh?"

"Korra, she would be really happy"

"About what? That you are gay?"

"What? No, she knows" she laughs "That you are here with her, she always enjoys your company, she told me

"Oh, well I enjoy her company too"

"Obviously when you have a crush on her"

"yeah true" I smiled "but I guess that's not what you wanted to talk about right?"

she sighed and looked at me, then she opened the drawer on of the bedside table and pulled out a board with a sheet of paper on it

"What is it?"

"That is Korra's medical stats from the last few days, as you can see here, the numbers are time and these are the number of breaths she took"

"8 breaths in a minute?!"

"yeah... her lungs are failing I'm scared we'll need to intubate her to keep her alive, connect her to pulmonary ventilation or something like that, I'm sorry Asami, but this is bad and it's only getting worse every day" she sighed and I looked on the ground

"We still don't-" I was interrupted by a knock on the door

"come in"

"Hey Kya, Asami" It was Lin!

"Lin, what are you doing here?" I smiled

"I came to check up on the kid," she said and she looked on the poor sick girl on the bed behind me "how is she?"

"not good, Katara managed to make her pain less intense but it's still getting worse," Kya said and I handled her the boards

"We are already working on getting to their base, the one who made the ting must have a cure for it too" she said as she went through the stats

"Really?! So there might still be hope for her!" I smiled

"There sure is kid"

"You're the best honey" Kya hugged her and I was shocked, what did just happened?

"Kya..." Lin whispered

"Don't worry she knows" Kya says ad she kisses her

"Woah Woah Woah Woah wait a damn minute, I know you are gay but I didn't know you're with Lin" I smiled

"Well now you know, please don't tell anyone," Lin said

"I won't you can-"

"hh...hh..hhh..."

I immediately turned around and saw Korra had her eyes open slightly, her wheezing has turned into gasping

she couldn't breathe....

oop another cliffhanger, I'm sorry this chapter is shorter guys, the next one will hopefully be longer. Let me know what y'all think about it in comments, I love reading them :3

One more thing, I haven't re-read it yet cuz I'm super tired it's like 1 am here so I'll do it in the morning :D
