[PART 1] "Hair clip"

---------------

'Good work today~ I hope you have a great day as always and I left a gift for you in the box under the flower pot outside your shop... I noticed that you wear your hair in a bun often, and it looks pretty. Anyways, I hope that you have a good day again~' The letter said.

It's been a few months since you started receiving letters from a secret admirer. You were working part-time as a florist and your secret admirer would always leave a letter for you. He would give it to your boss or other coworkers or leave it somewhere you saw.

It was getting dark and after work, you walked outside and checked under the flower pot. In the box was a cute floral hairpin! It's rose gold color shone in the dim streetlight view.

You smiled and stuck it in your hair, stuffing the letter inside your bag. You were walking happily down the road home.

Mingyu ran back to the flower shop but you had already walked away, only your back was present to him.

He was holding onto a hairclip that he forgot to include in the box. Hesitantly, he reached for the box under the flower pot instead of chasing after you. After all he has concealed his identity for so long.

"She shouldn't be walking alone..." He muttered to himself, the hairclip in his hands tightly. After hesitating for a bit, Mingyu walked down after you, following his gut feeling and clenching into the hairpin.

The empty road and cold night wind gave you chills. You paused after looking up to see an old man in front of you. He looked peculiar and you didn't have a good feeling.

You backed up and the man walked forward. The street was just a street, there was no seperate road for cars. Taking a gulp of your own saliva, you clenched your teeth and held onto your bag.

You saw the man sinisterly smile and he had a glass bottle of alcohol in his hands. You backed away again but then the man frowned.

You felt a reassuring warm hand pat your back. You didn't know who he was but he urged you forward.

"Hello, Mister." He greeted the man as you two walked past him. You clenched onto your bag.
Mingyu glanced down at the hairpin in your hair and smiled.

After walking a good distance from the man, you turned to him.

"Thank you so much," you said, giving him your precious smile. That's when he knew he had to make a move instead of hiding away and just being your secret admirer. "If it wasn't for you then..."

You looked up at him, who was smiling like his heart was fluttering (in fact, it was). Mingyu finally got back to his senses and took your hand, handing you the hairclip.

You tilted your head in interest.

"I forgot to include this one with the hairpin." Mingyu said with a smile.

You looked down at the hairpin then back up at the man in front of you, who was so tall and handsome, a smile forming on your face as well.

The streetlight right above you guys grew brighter. The night sky began to fill with stars and even the chilly wind didn't feel so icy. He smiled.

"You are..?"

"I'm Kim Mingyu."

[PART 2] "The First Stage"

---------------

"That's him. The one who always leaves a letter for you."

Your coworker pointed at the man who introduced himself as Mingyu the night before. You remembered everything clearly.

"He's been here since early morning, waiting for you."

You took a deep breath and walked over to him.
He had his head down on the table, motionless. His arms were also laid out on the table. You sat across from him and put your arms on the table, resting your head on it.

You gazed at Mingyu. He was indeed handsome. You raised your hand to block his eyes from the sunshine that shone through the large glass window he was sitting by. Before you knew it, a slight grin was growing on your face.

Mingyu's eyelids flutter open to see your hand blocking the sunshine from hitting his face. He turned his face slowly to face you and let out a small smile.

"You look pretty today." he said, his eyes shining. "You don't have you keep your hand up anymore."

He slowly put your hand down with his, making you blush. Mingyu smiled.

"Thank you for helping me yesterday." you said, sitting up straight, lensing back against the chair. Mingyu's head was still on top of his arms as he continued to gaze at you with a smile.

"It was nothing."

His beautiful eyes staring at you made your heart beat too much.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" you asked.

"Nothing, it's just that I can't believe you came to me first." He replied. Mingyu gave a small sigh. "Is that all?"

"Mmm... I also like the hairclip you gave me, but I'm afraid that I can't keep it." You took the hairclips that he gifted you and slid them to him on the table. He just stared at them.

"You should keep them." he replied, sliding it back to you. Mingyu straightened his back and put his hands on the table. "I just wanted to give you them because I thought they would look good on you."

"Why are you my secret admirer?" you abruptly asked. It was a question that was lingering in your mind, but you just couldn't find the answer to. "I mean... I'm not perfect, or anything special, so why?"

Mingyu let out a deep breath and smiled. "Now that I've exposed myself, I can express everything freely, right?"

"Feel free."

Mingyu's eyes met yours. "Well, to me, it just seemed like you were feeling down all the time. I wanted to cheer you up a little because you seemed like you would have a beautiful smile. I wanted to just... do good things for good people."

You continued stare at him, but then looked away. "But I don't understand, what are you trying to do by being my secret admirer?"

"Be your friend. Someone you can rely on." You felt your heart skip a beat. "Giving you gifts, letters, that makes me feel good too. The thought of having your day uplifted just a bit because of those small words I send gives me butterflies."

You felt yourself blush because in fact, those letters he did send everyday made you smile. Those gifts he gave and left for you made you smile too.
Mingyu scratched the back of his neck shyly. "Was I too straightforward?"

You shook your head, a smile forming on your face. "Thanks for telling me all this," you began to laugh, covering your mouth with your hand. "It indeed feels good."

Mingyu blushed. "Well, then... would you mind if I continued it this way?"

You shook your head. "Just talk to me directly. Let's be friends."

Mingyu smiled and then leaned forward, his hand on his chin, and his elbow resting on the table.

"Then I won't hesitate to openly admire you."
