------------------
It was nearly 10 pm when you received a call from one of the SEVENTEEN members, Minghao, informing you about your boyfriend's condition.

You were getting ready for bed when the call came. You had already eaten dinner, showered, and changed into your pajamas. The vibration of your phone echoed through your lonely and quiet house, and to see the number belonging to a SEVENTEEN member aside from your boyfriend made you immediately pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is this Y/N?"

"Yeah, it is. This is Minghao, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's Minghao. Sorry to bother you so late at night but I was wondering if you could come to our practice room? Sorry again..."

"The practice room? Is something wrong?"

"Well, Soonyoung hyung is a bit stressed about the comeback. He's been overworking himself regarding the choreography of the title track and I think it's going to take a toll on his health if he keeps this up."

You listened intently, already changing out of your pajamas so that you could head over.

Minghao continued, "Whenever we tell him to stop for the day or scold him for practicing too hard, he always says he'll stop but ends up going at it for another 3 hours. He's still in the practice room now and I'm sure he's practicing singing with the choreography... He thinks the choreography is hard like everyone does but he's still practicing it like crazy and singing along too."

You made your way to the front door and slipped on some shoes.

"Can you go and kind of...snap him back into reality? That he's human and he doesn't have to live with such god-like standards all the time?"

"Thanks, Minghao, for informing me. I'm on my way there. Is there anyone else there in the practice room aside from Soonyoung?" You asked, getting into your car. You could feel the chilly evening hair brush past your cold, still partially wet hair, giving you chills.

"No one else should be there..." You could hear Minghao sigh from the other line. "Thanks, Y/N. I'm sorry again for calling so late at night."

-

When you arrived at the practice room, were surprised because you could hear your boyfriend's voice from outside the practice room. His soulful voice as he sang, sounding out of breath but still somewhat stable, mixed with the taps and squeaks of his shoes echoed. From outside the practice room, you could feel his passion and greed for perfection.

You opened the door and angrily stomped toward Soonyoung, causing him to jump in surprise. Before he could ask why you were in the practice room so late at night, you ran into him, wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing your head against his chest.

You could hear the quick beating of his stressed heart. Soonyoung didn't even back away or ask about anything because he knew that what he probably needed most was a bit of silence and a big, warm, and sweet hug from you, the only person who was his healer.

"You can take a rest," You said quietly, your voice muffled in his sweat-drenched shirt. "It's okay to take a rest. It's okay to take a break. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to be imperfect, so don't force yourself to practice so much and work so hard, okay?"

Soonyoung chuckled a bit. "It's really okay-"
You shut his lips with your hand, your eyes were desperate.

"You already work hard enough. The fact that you're imperfect is better than the fact that you are perfect! You aren't a god, Soonyoung, you're a human that I love, and I can't stand hearing from your members that you're overworking yourself and getting stressed when you should be sleeping at this time!" You slowly removed your hands from his mouth and took a small step back so that you could see him face to face. "I know you can never live a normal life as I do but I don't want you to live like this either. You're hardworking but you have to remind yourself that you have a limit."

Soonyoung was quiet. He was stressed. He was so stressed over the fact that he couldn't sing right in a specific part of the dance. He was also stressed because he was going to end the new song and he had to bring out every last strength in him and make sure the audience felt his power. Soonyoung was also stressed that he couldn't perfect any of the two things he was stressed about.

Soonyoung couldn't help but look down, away from your beautiful eyes. He took a deep breath, finally realizing how much worry he probably caused his members for the past few days.

"Sorry," He said.

You shook your head and brought your hands to his cheeks, lifting his face so that he could look at you directly.

"You don't have to be sorry. You had good intentions, it's just that you're overdoing it," You replied softly, brushing your thumb against his soft cheeks. "Take a few deep breaths with me."

Breathe in, breathe out.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Together, you both chased away his stress.
You smiled gently and pulled Soonyoung in for a hug, your arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"Make sure to get some rest today, okay?" You said.

Soonyoung held you tightly, resting his head on your shoulder, lifting you above the ground a little.
"Hold on, just a few more hours."

You laughed and hugged him tightly as he spun you around.

-

You two were on your way out of the company. The night was cold and the moon looked sharply crescent.

Soonyoung had his hands clasped in yours as you two walked. He sniffled before saying, "Thanks, of course, you're always the best."

You turned to look at him.

Soonyoung only looked ahead. "I feel a lot better now. If you didn't come to remind me of all those things, I think I would have passed out in exhaustion."

"You shouldn't thank me, you should thank your members. They were really worried about you."

Soonyoung smiled and dove in to give you a gentle kiss on the cheek before letting go of your hand.

"Thanks for walking me back to the dormitory. Your car is parked here, right?" Soonyoung smiled. He was walking backward and smiling beautifully. You couldn't help but stare with a slight smile growing on your face.

"Yeah," You replied. "When you go back in, just go to sleep right away, okay?"

Soonyoung shook his head. "I'm going to watch my favorite drama first, I think it's airing soon."

You laughed. "Alright, but make sure you wake up at noon tomorrow then."

Soonyoung smiled brightly and waved goodbye to you as he continued walking inside the dormitory building. You walked back to your car, keeping an eye on him.

Soonyoung paused and turned back with another hearty smile. He waved with both of his hands again.

Now you knew how painful it would be if you didn't have that loving smile around.
