"well i guess we should head back to the hotel, shouldn't we?"

──────

ALEX'S POV- third person

something about this moment felt completely false to him, he felt like he was imagining the entire thing. there was no way this was happening. watching as you suggested that you guys part ways and head back to your hotels, the boy was quick to think of a way to get you to stay with him a little longer.

"uhm actually, i forgot to bring a charger for my laptop, y/n do you think you can take me to like a store or something so i can buy one?" he asked, as the group began to exit the restaurant.

"oh, yeah, of course. but only if wilbur watches over tommy, cause he's kind of my responsibility right now and if he dies i don't want motherinnit to kill me" you laughed. god, it was like music to his ears. everything you did he managed to admire, and he was more than happy to get to spend some extra time with you.

as the two of you walked down the dark streets of london, alex couldn't help but feel just a bit nervous. it was cold out, cold enough to see the warm air exhaling through your mouths as you spoke.

"hey y/n" alex started, stopping when he reached a seemingly nice area. a small park seemed like an appropriate spot to do this right? it was kind of cliché but part of him liked the cheesy aspect of confessing in front of a park late at night. he kicked his feet on the pavement, a sudden wave of anxiety hitting him, as he thought of all the ways he could fuck up. why would you even want to date him in the first place? especially after what he did to you?

looking down, he observed as you fiddled with your fingers nervously, slightly chuckling at the adorable sight.

"yeah, alex?" you asked, bits of your hair covering your face as you looked down at the ground. biting his bottom lip,

"i don't actually need a charger," he said, sighing as if he let a giant weight off of his shoulders.

you let out a small chuckle, and he couldn't help but swoon at the sight of the corners of your mouth curling up into a smile. "yeah i figured you really didn't need one", you joked as you looked up at him. "why did you happen to bring me here though?" you asked, a sense of worry bubbling up in your stomach.

alex looked down at you, making a small amount of eye contact with you, cute, your pupils had been a bit dilated. he couldn't remember where he had read it from, but he remembered reading that if someone's pupils were dilated, they were looking at someone who they deeply admired. he opened his mouth and spoke, finally addressing the way he felt for you,

"i like you y/n, a lot"

"a-alex..."

"and i don't mean in a friendly manner. i don't know why i've been so blind this whole entire time. even as my best friend you treated me better than any of my other ex-girlfriends have. i've honestly been a fucking clueless asshole this entire time, and you probably deserve someone way better than me. but all i'm asking for is for you to hear me out. you've been with me throughout everything this past year, and i don't think i'd be even able to get through the year if it wasn't for you." he stated, speaking a bit quicker due to his nervousness.

"alex. i like you too. a lot. way too much for my own good. but the amount of pain you've caused me and how poorly ive felt because of you just completely sucks. it was awful constantly comparing myself to everyone and wondering why i wasn't good enough for you. i don't know if i'm ready for a relationship with you. but we can definitely work something out, maybe test the waters before we decide we want to be with each other, you know?" you said, unable to look at the black-haired boy.

alex couldn't help but feel a bit defeated. but he knew he deserved it. giving you a small smile, he nodded his head. he understood that he had to respect how you felt, and he was willing to earn his place as your boyfriend.

"yeah. of course y/n, i uh" he paused, blinking away a few tears before they rolled down his face. " i totally understand," he said, slightly laughing, "i mean i'm just happy you even decided to give me a chance," he said.

"yeah- especially considering how fucking short you are" you joked, kicking at his feet as you grinned.

"not the jordan's y/n? REALLY?" he joked, beginning to walk away from you. to which you quickly ended up catching up to him.

walking next to you after confessing, alex got a bit of a sudden splurge of confidence, as he turned to you with a cheeky grin, "hey y/n, your hand is lookin' a bit heavy there-" he joked to which you simply laughed, deciding to not go along with his stupid joke.

"if this is your cringe way of fuckin' asking me if you can hold my hand then yes, you're allowed to hold it" you said. as soon as those words escaped from your mouth alex quickly intertwined his fingers with yours.

"hey y/n, this is kinds pog. don't you think?" he asked as the two of you walked in the direction of your hotel.
