Valentine

A/N: I was originally going to publish this on Valentine's Day itself, so I could look back and see 'Feb 14th' as this poem's publication day.

But I think it would be better if you knew this today, and enjoyed the Day of Love to every extent.

💕 Have a Happy Valentine's Day! 💕

Since I was small,
I only thought of
a perfect stranger
that I was to love,

chocolate and flowers,
all that will woo
my childish soul,
it thought this was true,

but older and older,
I start to find out,
is attraction and romance
all this was about?

A day just for love,
that's what was said,
then why feel lonely
if alone in your bed?

Love is not rare,
it's all around,
but on Valentine's Day,
you forget you have found

beautiful people,
somehow in your life,
that can make you smile,
comfort in strife.

It's alright to feel sad
when you have not met
someone that kisses you,
that makes your heart fret,

but never believe
that you are not part
of the celebration
just for the heart,

for friendship is love,
care is as well,
a smile is enough
to somehow tell

No one is alone
on Valentine's Day.

Let your joy spread,
and please don't dismay,
for there's always
someone
wishing to say,

"Roses are red,
violets are blue...

You make me happy.

I truly love you."
