She wore a burqa,
To shroud herself completely,
To conceal from the hideous eyes of the predator,
So that the society won't blame her

She didn't go out of the house after 7,
She didn't look in the eyes of the opposite sex,
She didn't drop any "hints",
She lived in fright 24/7

Yet, it happened
It happened to her
Unfamiliar men took advantage of her
The society blamed her

"What did I do to deserve it?", she thought
With every abuse,
She lost faith in humanity
With every touch,
She blamed herself

They only paid heed to their pleasure,
Not to the her discomfort,
They gagged her, slapped her,
Till she became numb to pain

Her once golden skin,
Was now full of blood and scars,
What is a sin?
They had raised all bars

Her silent shrieks,
Went Unheard,
Her cries of plea,
Were overlooked

They looked at her,
With a stupid smirk on their faces,
Like they were proud of the filthy act,
She wanted to wipe it out of their faces,
Only if she could

She just became an object,
If she fought before,
She had submitted herself now,
To the immoral satans

They had no reason,
To do so,
She was vulnerable,
Just wanted love and care

But God had other plans for her,
She was punished,
For being the lovely human,
She was

If this wasn't adequate,
They killed her,
Broke her into pieces,
And dumped her in a sewage

This is better than living, she thought,
She had "tarnished" her family,
She too,
Deserved peace of mind

Her death was,
A bright side for her,
Alteast she was free,
Of the abuse and torture

They never once pitied her,
She was on their mercy,
They don't even deserve to die,
They should rot in hell

Alas,
No one looked for them,
They were triumphant,
They weren't punished

They went to jail,
But they were bailed,
Coz they were the sons,
Of a politician

They won once again,
Men weren't taught their limits,
Only the women were instructed,
To be shrouded by a 'dupatta' at all times

No one argued against it,
All had to follow,
Coz the "rules of the society",
Are more important than a positive change

Society thought,
Rapes would stop,
But even they know,
Another "she" is being tortured

If not by a stranger,
Then by her own relative,
In a remote area,
But no one will put an end to this

"She" will just be given a tribute,
Through a candle march,
What happened to "her"
Will only remain a heading on the newspaper

"She" will soon be forgotten,
And the history will repeat itself
In another part of the country,
Women will be afraid to go out

Summary-
This poem is about rapes. You all know it. I am disgusted by it would be an understatement. Those filthy bastards can just show toxic masculinity and nothing else. Rapes are not acceptable and need to be stopped. I hope y'all support me. If they can do it, I can as well write about it. They have no idea how women feel. I am not embarrassed a bit while posting this. Why should I be? Rapists should be ashamed. My blood boils everytime I read this poem. This is a sad truth but it needs to be talked about. Shutting it won't help. We need to teach men how to control themselves and respect women. We are not objects. MEN NEED TO BE PUNISHED AND OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING TO SET AN EXAMPLE.
