That week actually started going pretty well, Y/n thought Lucius would want to keep their new friendship a secret, but he actually showed it off. Y/n was a pretty special kid, even though her parents were muggles, she was not only a witch, but also one of the best out there. She didn't know much about magic, until her Hogwarts letter came in the mail, but she was a natural. She was able to make wandless magic easily and most important of all, confuse the Sorting Hat. The summer before her first year at Hogwarts, Y/n spent day and night reading about magic, but not so much about the school. She didn't know anything about the houses, and, unlike most kids, had no premade judgements about any of them. Y/n was a hatstall, which is when the hat takes more than 5 minutes to decide, an awfully long time compared to the usual. It took the hat 22 excruciating minutes to decide, the longest time ever recorded in history. The hat actually gave up, and said she was a simply Hogwarts student. The hat and the Hogwarts staff had to deliberate for a long time before knowing what to do, since that had only happened in Beauxbatons centuries ago. They finally decided to make her a hybrid of every house, and let her choose a main one, for the points and dormitories. Y/n choose Gryffindor, since her new friends had all already been picked into it. The Gryffindors were extremely proud to have such a special person in their house, the Hufflepuffs understood her loyalty to her friends, the Ravenclaw deemed it as a smart choice, and the Slytherins were absolutely disgusted. The whole world got to know her name, but they didn't know her story, and most importantly, her non-magical heritage. She kept it a secret, and with such powers, everyone just assumed she had to be a pureblood. She never confirmed or denied those facts, the only people who knew were her best friends. She has a tie made especially for her with all of the colours. She obviously had the gryffindor gear, but also hybrid uniforms. Most of the Slytherins considered her a traitor, since she chose the "worst" house, so most of the time, they didn't consider her as a part of theirs. Her friendship with Malfoy changed that. They saw her as a Slytherin Queen of some sort, mainly after she stopped hanging out with the marauders.

"Slyther-fin-puff-claw? Ugh, there's no way to make it make sense. You're definitely more of a Slytherpuff, anyways." "What? No, clearly a Slytherclaw." Two Slytherins claimed. Since the halloween feast, Y/n ate at the Slytherin table, which was pretty much the final step for her acceptance in the house. "She's a Slytherin and a little bit of everything else. That's it." Said Lucius to shut them up. "Right?" "Right." She answered, which made the whole table cheer.

"Ew, how did this even happen? Malfoy? Really?" "How did this even happen? James! YOU. YOU MADE THAT HAPPEN. YOU PUSHED HER AWAY, GODDAMNIT!" Said Remus exasperated as James rolled his eyes and continued to eat his chicken in silence, until he broke the silence. Again. "This girl could have chosen any friend. In ANY house. And she chose Malfoy." Sirius put his fork down neatly and breathed in as to not punch some sense into his best friend. "What does it matter to you Prongs?" He said in the calmest way possible. "She did it just out of revenge, for sure." "OR MAYBE... Just maybe... he actually treats her right?" Sirius kept his nonchalant attitude. "She looks happy mate." "I'd rather her be friends with Lucius than eating by herself in the kitchen." Remus added. "What?" "What so you mean what?" "She ate by herself?" James sadly asked and Sirius answered with a mouth full of chicken. "I mean... she had the house elves, but yeah basically." "Fuck... I didn't know that..." "Everybody knew that." "Well I didn't." Looking right into his best friend's eyes, Sirius said: "Well maybe that's exactly the reason why she'd rather eat alone than eat with us." The silence that took over their conversation seemed to feel the void Y/n left behind. After a while of thinking James let out a frustrated laugh. "Is this about Lily again?" "Yeah, it's about Lily. It all started with Lily" "I'm right here you guys-" "Shut up, Lily." The boys all said in unison. "I miss her... I miss her really bad." Confessed Remus. "She lied." Lily tried to be a part of the conversation. Nobody answered, so she kept going "Y/n L/n is a jealous liar bitch. She tried to get in between us. Can you guys see that? She's so fake, it's unbelievable. All I did was show her true colours. And green is painted all over her face. Look at her, she's a snake that fits right into the snake house." There was silence. Everyone looked at James. Waiting. Waiting for him to say something. Waiting for him to defend his best friend. He just looked down at his plate, and kept on eating. Sirius wanted to slam his fist on the table, but Remus gently rested his hand on his shoulder before he could do anything. "Fuck you James." The whole crew looked at the tiny boy who usually stayed quiet. "This is all your fault." Peter points at him as he gets up and leaves.
