Alexis's pov

I stepped into work people were warming up to me nicely I recognized faces and I think I could remember a few of their names from just short conversations in passing so far everyone was pretty nice

I got in the elevator a man stepped in with me "hi" I said looking him over he wasn't in a suit so he must work on one of the lower floors

I found the higher up you work the fancier you dress but that's also partly due to the fact they were more likely to see Harry

He looked at me "hi... you're the woman working for the boss right?" He made no effort to disguise his gaze

"I am yes" I mean aren't we all?

He laughed "you're too nice for that" he looked toward the doors "we'll see how long that lasts" the doors opened

"It'll last longer than you do I know that for sure" I smirked as he stepped out he turned his eyebrows furrowed in disbelief the doors closed as I waved at him

I got to my floor and stepped out walking straight to Harry's office I knocked then just let myself in "good morning!" I chirped earning a grunt from Harry I set my bags down and sat in my chair

I opened my lunch bag and pulled out a burrito placing it on Harry's side of the desk

He turned from his computer and looked at it "what's that?" He looked at me cocking an eyebrow

"Breakfast" I smiled "I never see you eat and well... you're awful skinny" I laughed letting him know I was only teasing

"I eat every morning before I come in"

I pouted "oh" I shrugged "well that's a breakfast burrito it's got eggs, hash brown bits, cheese, and sausage not to brag but it's probably the best thing you'll ever eat... like ever" I said very confidently

He nodded "thank you" his tone suggested he enjoyed that conversation I opened my laptop getting to work

I looked at Harry he was very intently looking at his second computer monitor I wanted to be nosy and see what he was looking at, his second monitor is always off if he's not on it, but I decided against it I heard him groan he pulled out his phone leaning forward on the desk after a few rings and it appeared no one answered he looked extremely displeased he hung up his phone slamming it into his desk

I kept working like nothing happened even though I just slightly jolt in my seat he looked at me I just continued writing my email "Alexis?" I looked at him

"Yes sir?"

"Could you do me a favor please?"

"Of course Mr.Styles"

"Can I use your phone to make a call?" I nodded unlocking it passing it to him

"Thank you" he flashed a limp side smirk at me he sat back in his chair dialing a number

He laughed and said "so you finally answer? You won't answer your boss but you'll answer to a random number?" He nodded "I don't care" he shrugged "I genuinely don't Samantha pack your stuff and get out of my house"

He was firing his maid? I think

"What did you do wrong?" He laughed viciously "your job, you did that wrong you have until the end of my work day to get what you have together and get out" he paused "yeah and that's really just not my problem" he hung up even though she was still talking on the other line he passed me back my phone

"Thanks"

"You're welcome"

he sat back in his chair looking at the burrito he picked it up and unwrapped the tin foil looking at it a moment before taking a small bite his eyebrows raised and he took another bite "oh by the way Ms.Dixon I know this isn't exactly convenient for you but I'm just having a spot of trouble deciding how I want your office set up"

"Take your time sir I can be productive nearly any where" I smiled

"I'm sure you can but sharing a desk with me isn't exactly fun"

"Who says it's not?" I shrugged

"Well" he sighed "wouldn't you much rather be out there with others to be social and such? You are the social type and let's face it, I'm not"

I shook my head "I've only been here going on 3 weeks but you already talk so much more than when I first started working for you who knows next month I might have you giving me a speech"

He nodded "you pry a lot out of me" he mumbled and wrapped up the burrito he had only taken a few bites from "that was really good but I'm going to put it up and save it for later"

"You don't have to eat it if you don't like it" I said very softly to let him know it wouldn't offend me

"No it's one of the best things I've ever had but I don't eat that much" he stood up walking to his mini fridge putting the burrito in it "water?" He offered me a chilled bottle

I nodded "oh yes please" he walked back and passed it to me

"So what would you prefer? Your own office? A space in my office?"

"I wouldn't want to impose on you"

He shook my head "it's no imposition on me, it really makes no difference to me one way or another" he leaned on his desk crossing his arms

"I would want to give you your space... I can be a lot sometimes" I can tell sometimes I'm a little bit too much and it irritates him

He frowned "alright I'll have construction start on a room attached to my office for you"

"Thank you" I smiled

He nodded he turned to sit back in his chair "would you be able to do me another favor?" He asked scooting back under his desk

"What's that?" I hummed

"It's not exactly work related but I need to find a new maid can you do some browsing? Send me a few?"

"Sir I'm your personal assistant I figured not every task I was assigned would be strictly office related"

He nodded "that's exactly what I like to hear" I dare say that was praise "Uh send me those in my personal email too that's of the upmost importance"

"Oh your personal email which one is that again?" He had 3 each for a different reason

"Actually just text me you've got my number we should make use of that"

"Yes sir no problem" I felt a bit of pride that I got to text the boss I mean I've seen his contact list... even saying it was a handful of people was extremely generous

"In fact unless it has to be emailed just text me I'd rather your name pop up in my notifications, that draws more attention"
