Alexis's pov
"I dunno I'm nervous" Melissa frowned
Her ex-husbands parents want to take the kids for an extended weekend to go camping... in another state
"I get that but have they done anything to make you not trust them?" I shrugged, from what I've heard they were pretty nice even after the divorce
"N-No but... another state?"
"Realistically though they are only 4 hours away, that's really not too far" I rationalized
She nodded stirring her iced latte "I know" it's the first time they would be so far from her so I understand her hesitation
"Id say yes but I'm not their mother" I offered my answer
She sighed "if I act like this they'll never go any where" she looked up at me for confirmation
"Right" I nodded
She checked her phone sighing heavily "I gotta go" she pouted "thanks for coming to talk with me" it was just her lunch break so we only talked for about 20 minutes
"No problem" I opened my arms for a hug as I stood up she hugged me giving me a squeeze "let me know when they leave maybe me and Harry can go to a bar with you or something" I smiled as we made our way out the door
"Yeah I'll defiantly be needing a drink" I laughed softly as she whined
"First round is on me" I patted her back as we parted ways since we parked on opposite sides of the parking lot
I waited for her to leave before I pulled out as I sat at the exit of the Starbucks to get back on the main road another car pulled up behind me
He was close enough I could swear our cars were touching I pulled out glancing behind me wondering what the fuck his problem was
I looked around debating on stopping to grab Harry something for lunch... there was a salad station about 15 minutes from here I could get him that
I pulled up to a light and turned my music up mumbling the lyrics as I was thinking
I realized that same car was back behind me if he was going to ride my ass for awhile I had no problem break checking him I thought bitterly
The light turned green I took off smiling when another car slipped between us only for him to speed around and get back in front of them
This guy is going to cause an accident I pulled out my phone asking Siri to give me directions to salad station I clicked the one that used the back roads
I turned off the busy main road into a neighborhood this added at least 8 more minutes to my drive but well worth it not to have to worry about that psycho
But I spoke too soon because he turned behind me
Really?! I had to pick this guys neighborhood!?
I sighed heavily and just followed my gps but we passed street after street after street making lefts and rights here and there he was still behind me
Is he following me?
Something felt very wrong I could hear my heart beat in my ears and I felt my whole body get uncomfortably warm and tense
I frowned deeply and called Harry putting him on bluetooth so I could hear him over the speakers so I wasn't holding my phone
"Hey darling" he answered
"Hey Harry"
"What do you need my love? I've got someone on hold" he said it very politely so I took no offense
