it doesn't feel like falling

i love this one so much! it's way better than my last three, in my opinion... this one sort of refutes the views of love i held a few poems previous :)

---

i'd forgotten

what it

feels like

i'm tired of saying

it feels like

falling

because it

doesn't

it feels like

fighting

it feels like

worlds

crashing together

supernovas exploding

galaxies

coming to a

screeching halt

as their stars

mix

spiral arms

intertwining

black holes

gulping down

anything in sight

the night sky is

filled with

meteors

red and orange

blue

stars are born

again and again

and they die

in brilliant

bursts of

light

a thousand

million

billion years

extinguished

in a second

it feels like

crashing down

onto the ground

because the

wings

that used to

carry you

are too broken

now

feathers snapped

charred edges

soot and grime

streaked across

a once-clean face

it feels like

roller coaster rides

that moment

when you're

plummeting

but your stomach

is still in the

sky

and everything

in your body

is screaming

"i'm going to

die"

it feels like that

"falling"

is an understatement

for what it

feels like

to love

you
