2/25/21 - undraw my curtains ☀️

29 4 2

you're the sunlight
streaming through my window
warming me with your words
quietly drawing me outside
back to the chilled grass
back to the spring birds

you're the sunlight
when I've only just crawled out of fire
when my wounds are just closing
when my heart is still sore

you're the kind of sunlight
I want to dance in
to lay out and bask in

you're the kind of light
that doesn't shy away from faults
that doesn't back down from murky trains of thought
only gently exposes them
only gently envelops them

you're the kind of
light that's natural
and so very welcome
after dreary
after overcast
after two more weeks of winter

you're the sunlight
I'd open my shades for

and I've opened my shades.
and I'm waiting for you to come in.
