as time went by

Eddie pov

- 50 years later -

"he died in my arms the night we got married" I said to the woman sat across form me

"and you never got re married or found anyone else" she says resting her arms on the table

"nope no one he was my soulmate" I smiled to the woman 

"so what happened the next day how did you tell everyone" the woman asks sending me right back into the moment 

"buck" I shout shaking him I check the time 2am he was cold 

"Carla" I frantically shout before braking down laying on his chest 

"I love you ,  I love you , I love you" I kept repeating into his chest 

"Eddie ... he's gone" Carla says pulling me off him sobs ringing through the apartment as I slumped in the corner watching the ambulance take him away.

 Everyone came over hen and Karen with criss , nia and denny. Bobby and Athena with may and harry and Maddie and chimney. Maddie was a mess as she sat on the rug cuddled unto a pillow she didn't speak at all. I  sat in bucks fave jumper holding a pice of paper that I found in his coat pocket

please live life to the fullest, have fun, fight fires and party god damn party hard. but Eddie please don't get down or sad because although I am not physically there I am always here. our love is so strong that nothing could brake us. I will love you forever go to my apartment open the safe with the numbers 4967 everything you will need is in there send criss to college or what ever he wants to do to be happy.

 I drove to his apartment the next day I sat in there and cried for hours. I grabbed his work clothes and t shirts I wanted them all , I needed them all. I looked through our DVDs all the movies we would watch after work.  It took me 3 hours to finally open the safe to find money a lot of it with another note. For someone who didn't like English he wrote me a lot of notes 

my family gave me this when they left me.  I was saving it to travel but thats not going to happen so as I said in my letter this is for you baby spend it well and do something silly to make me laugh .. remember I'm watching 

that note defiantly made me laugh and I pull a funny face towards the sky but thats what I did. criss went to the best schools and uni and I went travelling on my own but I never felt alone I was always with buck.

I was brought back to present when the woman put a hand on my arm 

"that sounds like a hard day to talk about" she frowns

"it was. he was the love of my life and all I have ever wanted is to be with him again" I smiled sadly 

"and the 118 what happened to them" she smiled 

"well everyone ended up alright but we all took it very hard , buck was a amazing person. criss still calls buck his dad. now he's married and has a kid called Evan who we all call mini buck. Athena and bobby well they are just fine they went travelling the world together . chim and Maddie hmm .. lets see Maddie still calls me her brother which I love and I go round for family dinner every Friday they have 3 girls all grown up and married I only wished buck would have been there to see them grow up. Hen .. she calls everyday and we regularly talk about buck" I say smiling and looking up towards the Sky 

"ok mr Diaz back to your room now" the nurse in the home said I just nod jumping in the wheel chair and heading down the hall to my room 

"let me guess you was talking about buck again" she smiled I just nod 

"im going to be with him soon" I smile 

"im sure you will" she grins and I shut my eyes and the world went dark. 

"Eddie" a familiar voice rings through my ears 

"buck" I say turning round and stood waiting is my buck I ran to him taking him into my arms our lips smashing together 

"I watched over you all the adventures you had its like we did them together" buck smiled widely I had been waiting for this moment for 50 years

 "I can't believe how cute little buck is" he laughed 

"we can be together now my love" he smiled my eyes fixed on his face 

"finally" I said taking a breath and for the first time I felt safe again as I stood staring into my soulmates eyes.
