I don't own Percy Jackson, Rick Riordan does.

Side-Chapter 2 – Part B – A Quick Stop with Introductions along the Way

Percy's POV

I'm staring at Chaos. I can't tell what he is thinking, what is to be expected. But from what I can sense from him, he is thinking something over deeply. And from the worry deeply hidden in his eyes, it seems he might be worried about me. But why would he be so worried? He's almost being... overprotective. Why though?

My attention is drawn to Cosmos as she speaks up, "We should be getting onto what we were doing before. Perseus, you are thinking of an alias, are you not?"

"Yes." I respond, staring at her, putting my façade back on stronger than it was before, though it seems like she has noticed something by the calculating gleam in her eyes. "Though, I believe you already know that I prefer to be called Percy!"

"I'm aware of that fact, Perseus." She responds, suddenly looking a few years older but I'm left no time to ponder on it, her tone almost gaining a dangerous edge. "How you react to what we will be putting you through will give you the idea as to if that will change."

I realise what she is doing. Testing me. Seeing how far she can go before making me angry. By using one of the things she knows I hate being called. My brow just raises ever so slightly at her attempt, unimpressed by it. She seems to know this as she seems to back down from her silent challenge, what seems to be the barest nod going towards Chaos at this. A nod that makes Chaos ever so slightly roll his eyes for.

And I realise that she is going to find ways to try to rile me up to see what my breaking point is, probably to see if she can find a way to help me stay calm when it is reached.

"Good. Try to figure out your alias as quick as possible." Cosmos tells me swiftly while turning her attention to Chaos, making it seem like the challenge she issued never happened, but we both know it has. "Lord Chaos, now would be a good time to give Perseus the uniform, especially if you are still going to go through with the way he meets the other Assassins and the Commanders."

"Quite right, Cosmos." Chaos replies, glancing to another immortal. "Eros."

At that, Eros comes over to me from his position of leaning against a pillar. I stare at him quizzically.

"I need your measurements." He says and I raise a brow at him as he blinks. "Oh, I just need to touch you once to get them easily and with the most accuracy. Without touch, it won't be the best fit. Similar to the difference between pre-made and custom-made clothes back on Earth."

I nod and let him briefly touch the back of my hand. When he stops, he's obviously thinking. He holds his hand out, palm up, and concentrates. On the palm of his hand, a pure black necklace appears. It's small in size. It's just a single black chain that latches together, with a small bead that hangs in the center. He hands it to me.

"Put it on and don't take it off. To have the uniform appear, just think of it appearing on you. It will look the same as to what all the other uniforms our assassins wear do." I nod and do as Eros has instructed as he studies me. "Your assassin name will appear on the upper left part of your chest when it has been solidified. And you will have that wound on your side looked at as well."

I'm startled. Beyond startled. Did he learn that information with just a single touch? He must have. I haven't given away a single indication that I may be injured. Not a single one.

"Injured?" Cosmos along with a few of the other Primordials questions in shock.

"Yes, he is injured." Eros responds. "I sensed about three injuries when checking his measurements. There may be more."
