A Long Way From Home

Namjoon woke up in a good mood. He didn't usually wake up in a bad one, but today felt different. He brushed his teeth with a smile. He sang louder in the shower. He practically skipped down the steps to the car waiting to take him to work.

"Anyeonghaseyo, Kim-ssi."  The driver said as he held the door open for Namjoon.

"Anyeonghaseyo!" Namjoon hugged the driver before bouncing into the car. The driver gave Namjoon a strange look before closing the door and going around the car. Namjoon pulled out his phone and sent a text to Ani.

남준 😜: Good morning, Ani-nim, did you sleep well?

Ani: Good morning 😊 I did. 

남준 😜: Did you dream of me?

Ani: You're very bold!

남준 😜: It's still early. You can close your eyes for a few minutes and dream of me.

Ani: Or I could finish my breakfast and get to the bus

Namjoon chuckled at her response. He was starting to piece together her personality. She was polite, but didn't hold back her thoughts as they came.

남준 😜: You take the bus to work?

Ani: Yes, it's the best way to travel when you don't have a car lol

남준 😜: Do you know how to drive?

Ani: Yes lol it's a right of passage to get your driver's license as early as possible in the United States.

남준 😜: Really? I thought that was just something they made up in the movies

Ani: Movies tend to reflect life lol

남준 😜: How old were you when you started driving?

Ani: Well, I got my learner's permit at 18. I didn't actually start driving until I was 20 😅

남준 😜: Not 16? 

Ani: I was a late bloomer 😅 Forget about me. Did you sleep well?

남준 😜: Yes, I did. I had a nice dinner and I got to talk to a cute girl. It made waking up very easy 😁

Ani: Speaking of waking up, you're up very early for a business person

남준 😜: You sound like my older brother

Ani: How?

남준 😜: He also brings attention to me being at work early

Ani: There's nothing wrong with being early... I just thought you were more of a 9-5 not a 7-7

남준 😜: My brother doesn't like me taking work home and I have to deal with a lot when I'm in the office. I think I get the most work done before the others arrive and after they leave. No emergency meetings. No visits to my office. Just me and my computer

Ani: That sounds peaceful

남준 😜: It is

Ani: Do you only have the one brother?

남준 😜: Well, there are seven of us actually

Ani: Whoa?! Seriously?!

남준 😜: But only two by blood

Ani: Oh lol

남준 😜: I'll have to introduce you to them some time soon. My older brother is especially curious about you
