What drew me to Eda was her standing strong on her own two feet, not taking anybody's bullshit. Remember the debacle with the stolen designs? She proved her own innocence and walked away. Then stood her ground and didn't come back until Serkan apologised. That's not something we see on Turkish shows often. Now, when I watch the show, that Eda is not there anymore. As if her life's purpose is to make Serkan remember her. What happened to her dreams? Her school? Her independence? I get that she's in love and in pain and it's not going to go away in two days but this storyline has gone on long enough. They need to wrap it up. Fast.

In this one-shot, Eda, fed up with how everybody is apparently fine (except for Melo and Ferit, those two are cinnamon rolls who must be protected at all costs) with Selin's manipulation of Serkan and Serkan's uncaring (and let's be honest, cruel) behaviour towards her, finally gives up on trying to make Serkan remember and leaves to heal and start a new life.

Eda and Deniz do not fake an engagement in this one-shot and mental illness is not something that I believe I can do justice so Ceren is simply jealous of Eda. Serkan and Selin aren't together or engaged either, but of course, Selin is trying.

=======================

Eda was done. She was done. She had enough.

It had been 10 months since the accident, 8 months since Serkan's return.

She had tried everything.

She tried talking with him. She showed him photos. She tried being patient and giving him space. She tried jogging his memory when she felt he was remembering something. She looked up people with similar conditions on the internet and asked different doctors for their opinions. She tried everything she could think of.

Nothing worked.

Because he didn't want to remember.

And it looked like everyone was just fine with that.

His mother, who didn't give her the slightest clue that he was still alive.
Engin, the so-called best friend who had been her biggest supporter in Serkan's absence. He didn't even notice Selin's manipulation or spoke out to defend her every time Selin tried to trash Eda in front of Serkan.
Pırıl, who just resumed her friendship with Selin as if nothing was wrong.
Ceren, who was supposed to be her best friend but basically abandoned her because Deniz didn't return her feelings.
Her own aunt, who didn't even notice how bad she was getting. She was too invested in her relationship with Alex. And Eda was happy for her. She really was. But she was starting to act like Eda didn't even exist.

She wasn't trying to make herself the center of everyone's universe. She knew people had their own lives and their own problems. But they were supposed to be friends. Aren't friends supposed to ask you how you are every now and then? She just needed them to ask her how she was doing every once in a while. How she was handling everything. A five-minute conversation would be enough.

It looked like they didn't care that Eda had brought out a side of him that had been locked away for years.

She knew that she kept calling him a robot but she also knew that he was the farthest thing from one. She knew that he cared in his own way. That he had feelings. He was just afraid to show them or didn't know what to do with them sometimes.

The only people who stuck around her were Ferit and Melo. Only ones who were there. Only ones who kept asking.

This whole thing made something very clear to her. The only person she could really count on was herself. And if she didn't pull herself together, she was going to fall into a dark pit she wouldn't be able to get out of.
