So, Tess_sinh_28 gave me an idea a while back.

And I (finally) wrote it.

What if Kaan was interested in Eda romantically? Or maybe he just pursued her for the sole purpose of getting on Serkan's nerves?

Set in Eda and Serkan's fake engagement party in episode 3.

After zipping up Eda's dress, they both finally managed to pull themselves together and slowly made their way towards their fake engagement party, holding hands for the appearances.

Serkan hated that he had to bear this night because of Kaan goddamn Karadağ.

He hated even more that even after working all day to finish the new blueprints in time and managing to pull this all off, they still didn't get the project.

They got caught up with his mother parading him and his "fiancee" around to fulfill some ridiculous social requirement.

He was bored out of his mind and he could tell Eda was too. He was even more sure after he watched his mother's friends try and humiliate her because she wasn't from a rich family.

The superiority complex some people had...

He was just thinking about taking her to the lakeside so they could both get a break when they got separated and Eda got caught up in another set of guests and he had to tend to some of his father's friends.

He was watching various men coming on to Eda and her fending off their advances.

As she should.

When he was finally free to find Eda for that lakeside break, he found that smug bastard coming on to his fiancee with two glasses of champagne in his hand.

His fake fiancee, but still. Nobody else knew it was fake.

If it's fake, why are you so jealous?

I'm not.

Say it again but mean it this time.

He downed his own glass and walked towards them, wrapping his arm around Eda's waist for full measure. He felt her startle and then relax into him. So she was as disturbed as he was. Good to know.

"Kaan."
"Serkan. I was just extending my condolences to your beautiful fiancee. Spending the rest of her life with a man like you..."
"I think who I choose to spend my life with is none of your business, Kaan."
"Don't take this the wrong way, Eda. But I've known Serkan all his life. He doesn't look it but he's the most scheming, conniving, two-faced man I've ever met in my entire life."
"What about your sneaky, manipulative moves against me and my company? You were an idiot then and even more of a one now. You think I won't figure this out? I know you'll pull some shady move with this job. And when that happens, I'll make sure you get what's coming to you."

Kaan chuckled ominously.

"See, Eda. He's always been like this. Even when we were kids. Always had to be the winner. Never was a gracious loser. It's an obsession with him. I wouldn't be surprised if he saw you as some sort of a prize too."

Serkan would have knocked him out if Eda hadn't hold him back.

"This is neither the time nor the place for this. Right, Serkan?"
"Right, honey. I know what's true and what's nothing more than his way of coming at me. Too bad you're all talk and no bite, Kaan."
"You want bite? Alright. Let's start with this gorgeous woman next to you. You deserve so much better than him, Eda."
"I'm perfectly happy with the man I chose."
"I'm just trying to help you, Eda. He's going to break your heart. Serkan Bolat is not a love man. He never was and he never will be. Not like I am."
"Watch you mouth, Kaan. That's my fiancee you're talking to."
"Why? Am I lying, Serkan? I mean, as far as anyone knows you've had a grand total of one girlfriend before Eda. Didn't Selin break up with you because she had enough of your soulless personality? How you're all work and no fun?"
"You're crossing the line, Kaan. I think it's better you stop talking right now."
"I am just trying to open your eyes before you tie yourself to this man, Eda. It's not too late. Let's ditch this party and I'll show you a good time he could only see in his dreams."
