Chapter 24

Year: 2019

"Five?"

Five stood up and walked out into the hall, I followed. We headed to the stairs.

"Five, I was looking all over for you, where have you been-"

I looked down to see a woman standing at the bottom of the stairs.
She froze when she saw us... well... me.

"Is that?"
She pointed at me.

Five nodded.
"Yes, Vanya. Y/n is home."

I smiled at Vanya as she stared at me in disbelief.

"Oh my god"
She laughed as I walked down the stairs to give her a hug.

"I hate to sound like an old woman but Vanya, you've grown so much I barely even recognized you"
I laughed as we pulled away from each other.

"I was so worried about you, once Five came back I thought you wouldn't be far behind."

"Well I'm here now"
I smiled.

"And are you..."
She half-asked.

"Older?"
I finished her question.

Vanya nodded.

"No"
Five didn't even give me a chance to answer.

"I was stuck for 45 year in the apocalypse, where as y/n was stuck for only 3"
He continued.

"I accidentally blinked away and couldn't find her, everywhere I look, everywhere I travel. Y/n was no where to be seen. Like she... was wiped off the face of the earth-"

"But I wasn't"
I cut him off.

Five paused before starting up again.

"When I was accepted into the commission, they gave me one chance to find her again."
He said.

"I was given one briefcase that I could use go to a place and time of my choosing. They gave me 2 minutes there before being automatically transported back to the commission."

"Is the when I saw you?"
I asked.

Five looked at me as Vanya listened in silence.

"Probably not"
Five said.

"I was given a total of 4 chances to find you and bring you with me to work at the commission as an assassin, like me."

"...oh"
I said.
That wasn't the answer I was expecting.

"So... your only 16?"
Vanya asked me.

"I am"
I could see out of the corner of my eye that Five was getting restless. But I dont think vanya has noticed yet.
That was until five started talking.

"Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the apocalypse is coming so we're kinda in a hurry to save the world"
He said with a slight bit of tone in his voice.

"Oh... I'm sorry"
Vanya said, surprised that five suddenly became all worked up.

She turned back to me.
"We need to catch up some time"

I smiled at Vanya one last time.
"Once we stop the apocalypse, I promise we can go wherever you like"

She smiled at me as Five took my hand and lead me out the front door.

Once the door closed, I turned to Five and slapped him.
He looked at me in disbelief, holding his jaw.

"What was that for?!"

I crossed my arms.
"Why did you have to be so cocky to Vanya."

"Because we need to save the world and we cant have any more distractions."

"Well I dont know about you, but I haven't seen Vanya in 3 years so maybe I would want to spend time with her."

"Like you said before, we'll have time for that AFTER we stop the apocalypse"

I rolled my eyes.
"Fine"

Five sighed and tilted his head to the side.

"And why are you always so harsh on everyone else? You dont do that to me as much as you do it to them"

Just as I said that, Fives expression changed completely, instead of being so up tight and moody, he was suddenly flustered and he's ... blushing?

He quickly collected himself and stepped closer to me.

"Because I feel I can be myself around you"
He said.

"I'm not the type to trust just anyone, even if I have known them my whole life, but you..."

He looked into my eyes.

"You're different, your the only one that gets to see that side of me, so consider yourself lucky."

He said softly before planting a gentle kiss on my forehead.

I could feel myself blushing as he stepped away from me.

"Now, back to business"
He said.

"Okay... what are we doing now?"
I asked.

"We need to find a way to get the owner of the eye, HOW we're gonna do that..."

Five looked down thought for a moment.
He looked up at me.

"We need to bring someone with us who can pretend to be our parent."
He said.

"Smart, but who?"
I asked.

We both started thinking about who would be the perfect fit for the job.
I was think long and hard about it

"It cant be Vanya, shes to passive and wont get us anywhere.
Diego would end up killing someone.
Maybe Allison? No she would get recognized straight away..."

Then the perfect person popped into my head. I looked at Five who seemed to have someone in mind as well.
We both said our answers at the same time.

"Klaus"

Sorry this one took a while. There was (and still is) a lot of stuff going on in my personal life (as I said in the update) But dont worry, I'll try to get more chapters out as soon as I can
