Chapter nine: ''Mauve and Viridian''

TW: panic attack(sort of), cussing.

''Geppy?''

''Yeah?''

''You've turned red again. You should turn back to blue before the others come for our usual check-ups.''

''Same goes for you, your red parts have turned white.''

Darryl and Zak both turned into what they normally would look like, while still cuddling in their room. They are one of the only couples in this site that are allowed to have an actual, not separated, bedroom and room in general. Though, there might be some changes regarding their room due to the new information gathered from both Zak and Darryl.

Nobody should have found out about their colour changes, yet they did. One time during a night shift, one of the scientists saw in their pitch black room a tiny bit of white. That wasn't supposed to be there. The scientist went in to investigate, only to have it reveal it was not only Darryl were some features changed colours. The same happened to Zak, his roommate.

They both were quarantined for two weeks, only to have any tests results come back for them not to have a virus. Ever since then they both have been more careful around scientists, with the colour changes and this little egg they found in the corner of the room. Darryl, in his demon form (and when he isn't in demon form) has the ability to speak to the egg. It has been growing in size, well.. it's veins have. It has slowly been finding his way around the room, close to reaching the door.

Both Darryl and Zak were oblivious to the veins reaching the door, thinking it would not be able to leave anyway.. But that is another mystery for another time.

Karl joined Nick, who was outside for some of his fire testing, but remained outside for a little longer. They sat in a comfortable silence, as they saw two birds flying towards the site. One was beautifully whiteley coloured, while the other was a beautiful thyme shaded green. The thyme coloured bird had two small black circles around its eyes.

They landed in front of the pair, allowing them to show their beauty before taking off again and flying inside, as the door opened for Yorick and Grayson. They were followed by Nick and Karl who desperately wanted to catch them, to not end up in trouble.

''Sapnap, you go after the green one, I'll go after the white one!''

''Copy that.''

And with that, Karl went after the white one towards Phil, Techno and Wilbur's room while Nick went after the green one towards Dream, George's and his room. By Wilbur's room, the white coloured bird stopped and waited, while the lime coloured bird did the same thing by Dream's door.

On both sides of the site, the people inside opened the doors followed by the birds entering the rooms and landing in front of their soon-to-be owners. Phil and Techno who were with Wilbur at the time, were in total shock seeing a bird enter their room, gently landing in front of Wilbur. Wilbur, on the other hand, took it as a complete joy ride. He named the bird Mauve.

With Dream, he was in a room along with George when the bird entered.

''..How did that... Yellow bird enter?''

Obviously, this caused Dream to wheeze his usual wheeze.

''George- that- that's not yellow-'' He managed to get out. The thyme coloured bird landed by Dream's side, followed by Nick entering the room, out of breath.
