There was cheerful knocking at her door the next morning. Clarity groaned from where she lay on the couch in a pile of crumpled tissues. The wine bottle that had previously only been about a quarter of the way empty last night currently didn't have a drop left inside. She was in the same dress she'd been wearing the night before. Her make up was all run down her face mascara painting her cheeks, her lipstick was smudged, her hair was a tangled mess wire butterflies knotted into the chesnut strands, there was a pile of ash where her date set up had been. Table and all, nothing but ash.

Clarity frowned to herself, content to just lie in misery for the foreseeable future hugging a pillow to her chest. How stupid was she? To think that it had been real. Sara had loved her once maybe, but the feelings she had probably faded with time. She'd had her chance to be with her and she'd let it pass her by. Let the assassin slip right through her fingers. She was such a glitch. Asking Sara Lance to wait...it must have been too big of an ask. Clarity thought Sara had waited, and maybe she had, but maybe she didn't really love her anymore. Clarity couldn't believe she played her. Clarity had fallen right into her trap and now She couldn't even talk to Gideon about it cause she was gone now. Sara took her rock away and Clarity didn't have anything to left to lean on. Now she just felt like she was stuck in a hard place, no rock to save her from falling into it. She could call Felicity but why start drama among the teams? Better to just keep it to herself and lie in misery.

There was a pause in the knocking and then she heard some fumbling around outside. Then she saw Gary Green walking through her front door her spare key she hid behind a chipped piece of wood in the doorframe pinched between his fingers.

"Yoo hoo, it's me, Gary the goodie fairy. I hope your ready to start your day off with some chocolate nummies cause-" the words died in Gary's throat as he set eyes on her. "-well you don't look ready to start your day." Gary observed in surprise as he shut the door behind him kicking it closed. He moved towards her carrying a styrofoam tray with a coffee for him and a cocoa for her. In his other hand there was a little bag with a chocolate chip muffin for her and a blueberry muffin for him. "Why aren't you dressed? It's 7:00 am. We'll be late."

"Yeah um, look Uh sorry, Gary. I should've called. I'm not going to work today I don't think. You should just walk by yourself. My date last night it Uh it didn't go well, I mean at first I thought it was, but..." Clarity sniffled sitting up, running a hand through her hair wincing at all the knots she felt. She pulled on her dress strap that had fallen off her shoulder. "It didn't go like I planned. She didn't want me. She just...she just wanted Gideon."

"Your date took her? You have to call that in." Gary set the coffee's down going to grab his phone. "A lost time courier is no joke. There's going to be mountains of paperwork."

"No." Clarity replied with a shake of her head grabbing Gary's wrist. "No, please don't They're, look I'm not alerting the bureau of anything. She's wasn't some stranger we're we were...we are friends and I'm not getting her or my other friends arrested for stealing government property. There's no need for that. They're not trying to hurt anybody or cause trouble...they just..."

"I don't think you have to worry about them much longer." Gary looked at the alert that popped up on his phone. "Code 67. Someone is stealing a time ship. There's a request for full agent support. Pirates are armed and dangerous. Clarity, we got to go in."

Clarity looked down at her ringing phone. Rip was calling her. She looked to her bedroom where she knew her laptop was. "Uh, yeah we do. Just um lemme get dressed, brush my things," She gestured to her teeth and her very messy hair, "and I'll be right there."
