On Ignis Diem, everyone within the girl and boy's blue dormitories had to wake up at five in the morning. Cooking class started at five forty-five, and the students in the Blue House had to have breakfast prepared by seven for the whole school. Since pets weren't allowed in the kitchen, Yabo had to stay behind.

"Sorry," Soraya apologized. "The teacher thinks you'll shed everywhere. I'll see you soon," she assured her pandacoon and kissed the top of his furry head. "Don't get into too much mischief."

Yabo yawned, flashing his pearly fangs, and lay back down on Soraya's white pillow. He was asleep again within seconds.

"He's the sweetest thing," Moiya cooed while glancing at the small ball of fuzz snoring away on her friend's bed.

    "Yabo really is," Soraya agreed.

The two girls waited in the hallway for the boys, as it was now part of their daily morning routine, and the four of them made their way to the kitchen on the main floor of Darkwood Academy.

Soraya was fueled with the excitement and anxiousness one would have for their very first day of school. Moiya, who wasn't a morning person, was already struggling to stay awake. Ujuu loved cooking, but he did not like having sleep being stolen from him, and Rhys was less than thrilled both at being awake at an unGodsly hour and having to make meals.

"If I start coughing a lot, do you think the teacher will let me go back to bed?" Rhys queried.

"I've already tried that before," bemoaned Moiya. "He just forces you to put on a mask. There is no escaping Mr. Trog's class."

"Oh come on, it's not that bad," interjected Ujuu.

"Yeah, but you actually like cooking," retorted Rhys. "Meals that take over thirty minutes to make aren't worth the trouble."

"You're just saying that because you're tired," grinned Ujuu. "You couldn't survive without butter rolls. Remember, they're only pillowy soft and melt in your mouth because the dough needs two hours to rise."

"That's what you're for, igo no fratello," Rhys lightly patted his younger brother's back. "You make food, and I clean the dishes."

Soraya couldn't help but smile at their bantering. She was content and grateful for sharing most of her classes with them.

All the exhausted students formed a line, each grabbing a hanging navy blue apron from the stone wall and tying it around themselves. Jacquelle, Vamera, and Emrose were at the very front, all three of them ignoring their group.

I wonder if she's still embarrassed about the other day.

Soraya observed each student wash their hands at a small sink before putting on gloves and entering the kitchen through a wide set of swinging doors.
