"You made a deal with Mülock and met with Jon?"

"Yeah..."

Rhys, Ujuu, Moiya and Jacquelle were all dumbfounded, each of their jaws dropping open in shock.

"Why do these things always happen when we leave you alone for a few minutes?" Rhys sighed, his eyes closed, his index finger and thumb pinched to his furrowed forehead.

"I think you should all meet Jon..." Soraya added timidly. "He's quite nice."

"Yes, let's meet the man who craves blood, what could possibly go wrong?" snorted Jacquelle. "Should we all hang out in a dark alleyway while we're at it?"

"I mean it," Soraya replied, thinking about how much her pet snuggled up to Marlot. "Yabo seems to like him a lot."

"Oh wow," Ujuu declared. "That is a good sign."

"What?" Jacquelle scoffed. "Are you serious?"

"He's right," Moiya spoke up. "Yabo's pretty good at detecting one's character. He doesn't like Ms. Whispers," the girl paused and glanced at the blond. "He only took to you recently... Remember how he didn't like you when you first met him?"

"Yabo always liked me!" Jacquelle huffed, folding her arms across her puffed out chest. "No need to be mean, Moiya."

Soraya stifled the laughter rising into her throat.

That's quite ironic...

"We should meet up with Jon in a public place this weekend," Rhys finally said. "He did offer to take care of Norma, let's see if he follows through on that."

Jacquelle shot the Shadelkin boy a glare. "I thought you out of all of us would be the reasonable one and put your foot down. We can't let him hurt Soraya!"

"If he had wanted to do that, he would've already."

Jacquelle clenched her jaw, her tightened fists shaking.

"He's extremely powerful," Rhys continued. "He could've easily kidnapped her or done us all in if that was his intention."

"Exactly, and he did no such thing," Soraya nodded in agreement. "I trust him."

She glanced at Jacquelle. "Could you add him to my paperwork as my uncle? Make him an emergency contact, so he can pick me up once the school year ends?"

"No!" Jacquelle cried, startling Soraya. "I'm not losing you!"

"But-"

The blond swiftly turned on her heels and disappeared out of the Radio Room before Soraya had a chance to continue, the clacking of her shoes fading from ear shot as she descended the winding staircase.
