- Member of the notorious gang Akatsuki. Hidan was introduced briefly as a serial killer early on in the series. He was most known for a series of murders that he was linked to by Sakura Haruno, and was also implicated in the attempted murder of Dr. Haruno at her home.
- He was known for frequently changing his appearance, making his kills difficult to track. He would kill all over, but his primary obsession was collecting his victims' eyes.
- He was shot and killed by Sasuke Uchiha at Konoha Hospital when he attempted to finish the job he started by killing Sakura Haruno, who was close to uncovering and linking him to multiple murders (as well as being his only surviving victim, meaning she would be capable of identifying him).
- He was primarily identified in the process of the Kin Tsuchi case investigation.
- The depth of his involvement and associations with Akatsuki are unknown at this time.
- Hidan identified as asexual; however, his inclination to psychopathy makes his sexual nature more complicated.
