Chapter 9

Or maybe not.

Maybe I was just carried away by his protection and compassion. Maybe I was merely overwhelmed by the circumstances then and he was coincidentally there to show his support and sympathy.

I sighed.

Naguguluhan ako.

"Can you fucking stop?"

I exasperatedly stopped typing upon my laptop and loured at Dan who is chewing a gummy obscenely. His chews were so loud that I could not focus on my business plan.

The 1 week break due to Eid Al Adha lapsed and everything eventually came back to normal. My dad flew back to USA and I heard Dan's parents, too.

Balik-delubyo.

"Init naman ng ulo."

He frowned at me then aerated his roseate cheeks as I hardened my glare.

I have 1-hour vacant before lunch so I went here in front of Business Ad building to start our project in Organization & Management.

Don't you have class to attend?"

Truth be told, him being close to me right now, I feel nothing. Really. Mystifying 'cause it's very different from last time when I inwardly admitted that I'm starting to like him. Tila bumalik sa dati. Tila ba panaginip lang iyong nakaraang linggo. I'm back to being nauseated and frustrated by his presence.

"Mayro'n. Kaso nakita kita, tinamad na 'kong umattend."

I stared at him in disbelief.

"Seryoso ka d'yan?"

Knowing him, an overachiever and elite student, he won't ditch a single class for such rubbish reason.

He chuckled.

"Ano ba 'yang ginagawa mo r'yan? Sobrang tutok, ah. Feeling ulirang estudyante?" pag-iiba niya ng usapan at saka lumipat sa tabi ko.

I scooted over to give him enough space to sit on. "Shut up."

"Oh? Ba't walang laman?" Ano 'yon? Fake?" Bumungisngis siya.

"Excuse me! May tinatype talaga ako! I just deleted it because I'm thinking of changing my business product," I reasoned.

"Ano ba 'yon?" He asked as though he's ready to help me with my problem.

"Okay, so our instructor taught us that in business, it's always a must to consider timeliness and relevance. Therefore, I thought of selling medicines since it's like an eternal demand globally. But uhm, there are so many reasons that make me want to change it."

He pursed his lips, nodding his head. "Is this for startups?"

"Yep."

"Kung ganoon, mag-iba ka nga. Because if you guys will present your proposal, you'll have a tough time defending your business—not that I'm underestimating your capability.  It's just that medicines will require seriously large amount of capital. Unless you're planning of mere reselling?"
