Maybe life should be about more than just surviving.

I STARE COLDLY AT THE EMPTY ALCOHOL BOTTLES in front of me. Haymitch has been drinking ever since the train departed. Mixing all different kind of gin and vodka as he blabbers about Effie's apparently silly butterfly costume.

Effie went into her room to get changed.

"Have you ever tried this Jim Beam vanilla bourbon?" Haymitch addresses me, looking at me as he ruffles through his long blonde hair.

I just keep quiet, not saying a word. I couldn't bring myself to open my mouth, feeling so numb that I couldn't even move a finger. Even blinking feels like my body is about to shatter.

I'm just staring at one of the empty seats. It's where Peeta sat a year ago.

"I guess not," He replies to himself after a while as he pours himself another glass.
