Slowly I materialized gasping I dropped to the ground at the effort of the magic I upheld, when I wished for it to take me home. Expecting to look up and find myself in the woods I brought my eyes up to the site before me. The breeze softly whipped my hair beckoning me to look closer. A beautiful castle of marble and silver was standing majestically over me with ivy slowly crawling up its walls acting as a sort of shield from the outside world.

Could it be?

Is it?

Stepping forward I hesitantly touched the cool marble expecting it to disappear. My hand snapped back at the touch of it...my kingdom

My home

Closing my eyes I breathed it in the smells of magic, laughter, and hope. Everything that is lost in my kingdom and the very thing that will soon be eradicated from the world forever. What would I do when the thing that sustained us is gone?

"That will not happen my daughter, not if you can stop it."

My head snapped up at the melodic sound that I had last heard all those years ago. Turning I threw my arms around my mother. Crying I managed through my tears,

"M-M-Mama is it you? Really you?"

As I nuzzled my head into the crook of her neck she responded by sweeping my hair behind me ears. We just sat there and I finally pulled back to get a look at my mother.

She was still wearing her battle dress with its fairy leaves imprinted on the skirts and bow across her chest. My mother's golden hair swept past her shoulders in waves and her lips were upheld into a smile. Carefully I memorized each detail, but I noticed something. Something is missing and I hesitantly questioned her on it not sure if I wanted to know the answer,

"Papa?"

Before she could answer a teasing voice came out of the wind as my father materialized by my mothers side,

"Of course my darling!"

I unglued my eyes from my mom I rushed to my father barely coming up to his 6'8" frame. His height was a rarity among the Fae making him scary to other supernaturals, but he was always kind and reasonable no matter the circumstance. I remember wanting to be just like him when I ruled the Fae. His rumbling laugh emitted from his mouth and he picked me up twirling me in the air. Putting me down he suddenly became serious,

"Fayette we need to talk to you about something."

Smiling I nodded glad to have them back. My mother and papa glanced at each other and a look of warning crossed my mothers face. I became worried.

"Whats wrong mama? Papa?"

My mother choose to answer this time,

"You need to go back to the humans."

I frowned at this "Why?"
