CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Sooah was waiting for Chan since he offered to drive her home. Kyora went home already and Chan had basketball practice so she had to wait alone for a while.

"Sooah." Someone called her.

"Mireun? What is it now?"

"Do you still not trust me?"

"Mireun, even if I do trust you, what's is that going to do?"

She looked down. "I guess nothing..." then Mireun left, leaving Sooah alone.

"Why is she so desperate... wait what" her eyes followed a figure who just entered the school.

"Seo Lina?"

Sooah gasped once she realized. "That's definitely Seo Lina"

What's going to happen now?

Sooah turned around when she heard the basketball team going out, Chan and Jaehyun will be here any second.

And she was right.

"Chan" Lina smiled and walked towards him.

He stopped his tracks, staring at her in disbelief.

"Chan I missed you so much" she cried, running into his arms.

"What are you doing here?" He pushed her away.

"Don't you miss me too?"

He shook his head. "My soulmate is waiting" Chan replied, walking towards Sooah.

Lina gasped then ran up to Chan and back hugged him. "Do you really... have no feelings for me anymore?"

He sighed, pulling her hands away. "No"

"Let's go, Sooah" he grabbed her hand and walked away.

Jaehyun was watching in the distance, his heart breaking into pieces.

"You should let him go, he's happier" Jaehyun told Lina who was still crying a river.

"But I love him so much"

"I love Sooah too, but I can finally let her go now"

Lina looked at Jaehyun with wide eyes. "You like Chan's soulmate?"

He nodded. "That's all I can say, goodbye."

"Wait." She stopped him.

"You can help me."

Jaehyun turned around and looked at her confused.

"You like Sooah, I like Chan. We don't like each other and-"

"Whatever you're thinking, it's not going to work. Stop being selfish and be happy for Chan. If you truly love him, you will let him go."

Lina looked up and wiped her tears. "I'll try, but I don't know if I'll be able to"

"That's also what I thought at first" Jaehyun replied before walking away.

"Some things are just not meant to be huh" Lina sniffed.

"Chan?" Sooah called.

His face scared her and he hasn't said anything since they left school.

"Sorry, I was thinking about taking you out for dinner but this day was ruined. Will you be free tomorrow?"

Sooah nodded. "That's okay, we can go tomorrow" she smiled.

"I thought I said I didn't want to meet her"

Sooah looked at Chan and let out a sigh, what's going to happen now?
