Y/N felt as though she'd never get over the humiliation of being thrown from her 'best-friend's' room after refusing to sleep with him. But, despite the pain she felt, she wasn't surprised it had happened. After all, it was Jacob she was talking about. He'd expressed his devilish desires many times before and she knew that he'd told Derek about wanting to... do that. Somehow, she'd really thought that he'd changed. She thought he cared about her enough to respect the decision she'd come to, to not want to force her to do something she was uncomfortable with.
But apparently not.
What had happened in Jacob's room was all that Y/N could think about. It occupied her thoughts at every waking moment she experienced. At night when she was alone, in the bathroom getting ready for the day, in the car with Andy and the breakfast table. Her face went red hot with embarrassment whenever Jacob was around and she could hardly bring herself to make eye-contact with Andy- for fear that he may be able to read what happened from her gaze.
In fact, she'd been thinking about it so much it had almost stopped her from thinking about Jacob in the basement- covered in blood.
Almost.
Days had gone by and Andy was still working on the case of the, supposedly, dead boy. Y/N could see how much it must be stressing him out, what with the divorce on top of all of it. It hurt her to see him stressing out, hunting for evidence that she knew Jacob could provide.
She desperately wished to ask Jacob about anything else he knew about the dead boy or Mr Wallace, but she couldn't face him. Y/N felt physically sick to her stomach when she thought about him on top of her... doing what they were doing. She felt dirty.
There was almost no progress on the case, or their relationship, until a week later at diner.
Y/N and Jacob had prepared diner in silence. They stood in the same room of the house, working in silence to make diner ready for when Andy would return home. Passing pots and pans across to each other, moving to take sauce off of the hob when a bell dinged, taste-testing when they needed. All in silence.
The only thing Y/N managed to ask him was- "Can you set the table?" To which he replied with nothing more than a nod before doing as she'd asked.
With the food on the table, sat mere seats from each other, Mr Barber walked into the house. Y/N could immediately tell that something was wrong- more than usual- with the frown lines looking as if they were drawn on with sharpie and the sheet of paper clenched in his fist.
Before Y/N could ask what was wrong, Andy walked over to the two of them and slammed the sheet of paper in front of Jacob. When he spoke, it was as if another thing was controlling him, something deep and dark. Like the devil himself.
"Okay, Jacob. I'm going to ask you a question, okay? And do not bullshit me this time." He yelled, his tone firm as he jabbed at the sheet of paper with his finger. Andy hardly ever swore at them, Y/N felt herself tense and saw Jacob do the same. "Did you know Daniel Clark?"
Y/N turned her head to look at Jacob, watching him stare up at his dad, mouth agape, eyes wide. A deer in the headlights. "Dad, what are you talking about-"
"Daniel Clark, Jake. The boy who's body we found dissolved in a barrel a couple of weeks ago. Ring any bells? The boy who you said you didn't know- yet apparently you do." Once again, Andy hit the sheet of paper. Y/N finally looked down at it.
It was a photo. A blurry photo but still clear enough. Taken from an awkward angle, a CCTV camera on a wall. Daniel was there, sat on a bench smiling, eating something. Y/N recognized the surroundings, it was the bench outside of Mr Wallace's room.
And Jacob was sat next to him, smiling right at him.
Jacob had finally looked at the photo too, beads of sweat visible on his forehead, cheeks flushed, legs trembling under the table. "Dad... I didn't know-"
"You what? You didn't know him? Don't try lying to me, boy, not again. Because it looks like you knew him pretty well." Andy told him before reaching into his blazer-pocket and pulling out folded sheets of paper. He unfolded them. Placing them onto the table, one by one.
More photos of Jacob with Daniel. In the canteen. In the locker-room. In the halls. All of which they seemed to be laughing and smiling at each other. Some of which had Mr Wallace in, too. "Now, if last year hadn't happened, I wouldn't think anything of this. But it's the fact it did happen, and the fact that I asked you if you knew him and you lied. So, why did you lie, Jacob? What aren't you telling me, are you-"
"Leave me alone, dad! Goddammit, just leave me alone!" Jacob screamed at him, standing up from his seat with such force, that the chair fell back behind him. Y/N jumped at the sudden movement, watching him storm towards the stairs. What was he getting so upset about? Y/N knew he knew Mr Wallace but why was he so keen to hide his, obvious, friendship with Daniel?
Andy screamed after Jacob, forcing the boy to freeze at the bottom of the stairs and turn back to his dad. "Why does it matter? Why are you so damn bothered by the fact I knew him?" Jacob asked, tears beginning to trickle down his cheeks, sticking his lower lashes together.
Putting his hands on his hips, Andy leaned forwards, "Because you don't exactly have the cleanest record, Jake. If my team think you have something to do with what happened, they'll have a field day! I'm trying to protect you, son!"
"No! No, you're not! You're pointing fingers!" Jacob yelled before pausing and taking a shaky breath. "So what that I knew him? I don't any more! He's dead! He had his neck snapped and was dissolved in a barrel! That's all you know, that's all I know!" He finished before turning around and storming up the stairs.
Y/N heard the door slam and sighed nervously, looking at Andy. She couldn't decide whether to go after Jake, comfort Andy or just finish her diner.
Andy turned around to look at Y/N, watching the girl sat there tensely. She prayed the next few minutes would be as comfortable as they possibly could be.
"Do you know anything?" He asked.

Sorry for not updating! But I have time off now so I can write more! <3
Do you think Y/N will tell Andy what she knows? Why do you think Jacob got so upset?
