- Mercantilism (belief that wealth is finite; they need to regulate their wealth within their own country to ensure their survival. This basically limited trade with other countries by putting tariffs on their imported goods, discouraging citizens to buy the taxed good and focus on their own goods instead. 1700's-1850's)
