I slowly started to wake up and I saw that Sarah was still on top of me with her head right next to mine
I can hear her softly snoring in her sleep so I decided to let her sleep a little bit longer
A minute goes by and Sarah slowly starts to wake up
Sarah: mmmh... Morning Lucas
Lucas: good morning to you too Sarah
I rub the back of her head softly and gently
Sarah: mmmh so hey can I hear that story what it was like for you where you come from
Lucas: sure where shall I begin and do you want to sit up or do you want to remain like this
Sarah: I will sit up so that way I can pay attention to the story
Sarah set up and set at the edge of the bed waiting for me to begin
Lucas: you know what I think I found a good spot to start off
(Flashback)
It was the 40th millenia and I was stationed on the planet Nexus prime the planet was a beautiful lush plane but the further you go towards the front lines the less beauty and more destruction and war has touched those
So 2 days before we are supposed to ship out to the front one of the guys I don't know who it was just had to play a prank on the commissar it turned out it involved a fake hand grenade a badger for some reason and duct tape they didn't say what happened afterward all I know is the entire platoon got punished and we were told to March from point lookout all the way to the next camp over which was about 6 miles or so
But I will say this it was a nice walk for the most part pretty quiet then I say about 3 miles into the journey we came across a guy who wanted to take her picture and what I assume is his son or his friend's son who was helping them out in the fields mind you this is in some really nice farmlands and I think I still have the photo

He told us to keep marching towards him and he took it it's such a nice angle basically half of the platoon wanted a picture so he mailed each and every last one of us one copy

A couple days later we are told to pile into the chimeras which are transport vehicles
About halfway through that's all starting to pile in and most of them already making their way to the front I seen one of the privates get the shakes a little I can tell he was nervous as hell I tried calling him down with a few words of encouragement
Lucas: hey private what's wrong with you?
Private: sir I'm just a little shooken up that's all I didn't think will ever go to the front. We always just be on guard duty in the back of the lines
