HOPE AND DESPAIR ࿔ 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒏

THE HOUSES in the walls were all ruptured with pieces of bricks and cobbles laying on the roads. as no form of life was habituating the area for a long time,  green-colored mosses covered the buildings, forms of green life were sprouting in between the brick pavements. there were distinct holes in the houses that were formed by titans created by their scarily large hands that broke through the buildings in order to find humans to devour. the only sounds that could be heard were the hooves of the horses, along with distant titan footsteps.  

irene watched as the support squad took out the 10-meter titan that approached their way, its hands demolishing the rooftop of a house. she noticed the brunette who was beside her, screeching at the sight of the nearby titan. 

"sasha don't falter. just leave it to the support squad," articulated irene, glancing at sasha quickly before turning her attention to the front. 

once they had left the neighborhood, there was a vast area of empty green land with clusters of trees that spread around them.

"long-distance scouting formation!" erwin loudly commanded, signaling to move with his left hand. 

"don't wet yourself if you run into a titan!" joked jean, bowing his head as a bid of goodbye to irene. 

the female rolled her eyes, "you should be telling that to yourself," her eyes turned to the blonde male, "see you later, armin." 

the blonde male gave a nervous smile, "you too."

with the leather reins attached to kali, irene directed her away from the group. her body bounced as she rode kali, the ponytail that kept her black hair together swung to the sides, similar to the way kali's black tail swayed. 

irene turned to gaze at the sky above her. the sky was in a shade of ocean blue with evident hues of emerald. grey clouds that dotted the sky were slowly gathering, signifying that they were entering the afternoon. irene felt a gentle breeze on her pale face, causing her bangs to move. the air on the outside was so fresh and clean. 

from the corner of her eye, a red smoke that traveled up into the sky came into her view. alerted, the female hastily grabbed her flare, inserting the red colored canister into the gun before triggering the button to send it into the sky. 

the vanguard scout squad encounters the most titan often. upon sighting the titan, a red smoke signal would be fired. soldiers nearby that see it should relay the sighting by firing a smoke of the same color. after observing signals to determine the titan's position, the commander will fire a green smoke signal to indicate the formation's new course. thus, the entire formation will advance to its destination while avoiding the titans.
