Chapter Two - Come Dine With Me

I'm not a religious person, but I have found myself praying to God a lot more recently.

That reason being, you guessed it.

My new neighbour.

The man is sexy as sin, but he's a bloody murderer!

Bloody murderer, see what I did there?

Jess is excited about having him over, she think that he could maybe be the 'one' for me, she wouldn't be saying that if she knew what he did last night.

Jess and I aren't your 'typical' siblings that can't stand the sight of each other. Jess and I we get on great, even at a young age we shared a close relationsip. People found our relationsip refreshing, we saw it as normal.

Sure we have our moments where we want nothing more than to kill the other, but that's never often.

I am shitting myself about tonight, what if he tries to kill me and Jess tonight?

She's innocent, she doesn't deserve to die like this.

Maybe I can get her to leave tonight, maybe I can even move in with her and Simon and get away from the handsome devil.

If you noticed, maybe you have or haven't yet, I have quite the potty mouth. Mother wasn't fund of profanity being used when Jess and I were younger which I guess led me to wanting to swear even more and it's now a bad habit I can't shake. But my mum had a wicked tongue when it came to almost having accidents on the road.

I remember this one time at the dinner table where my mum told me she had invited the Brennan family for dinner, the Brennan family consisted of Mike and Tina Brennan and their daughter Vicky, who was the biggest legspreader I had ever met. When my mum informed me she was coming around too, I openly said at the table just how much of a 'spreader' she was and my mum was livid.

That night I learnt excatly what soap tastes like.

I was adding the finishing touches to the special fried rice I had made, when Jess walked through the front door, not all of us men are helpless cases.

"Hey girl, whatcha doing? Hey girl, where you going? You get down, and make a frown; She's gonna turn, turn, turn it around; She's gonna turn, turn, turn it around Who's that girl? (Who's that girl?)" I danced around shrugging my shoulders, singing as my own backup since I know she wouldn't join in.

"Who's that girl? (Who's that girl?) It's Jess!" I sang pointing at her.

I couldn't stop my loud laughter looking at Jess's bored glare.I slapped my knee over and over whilst wiping a fake tear away.

"Whoo, it gets better and better every time, ah...quality." I return to the kitchen feeling Jess roll her eyes from behind me.

"No wonder you're single, your sense of humour sucks ass" it was my turn for the smile to be wiped off my face and be replaced with a glare.

"There's a thin line between banter and bullying, Jess."

Bending down, I opened the cupboards and pulled out the skillet, I placed it on the stove. Turning up the temperature, I poured in some vegetable oil and when it was finally hot enough I threw the seasoned chicken pieces in so they could brown.

Turning down the temperature, I moved to the chopping board and began to slice up some red and green peppers and threw them in once the chicken had browned.
