Chapter Ten - Hospital Trips and New Love Interests

"Frank! Frank!" I watched as a shocked Frank turns around from the nurse he was having a conversation with and he smiles brightly at me.

"Jax my boy! I didn't know you were coming to see our little Erin today," I decided today would be a nice day to get away from the stresses of work and everyday life with Valentino now being in it, and come visit my Erin.

He takes me in a tight bear hug and kisses my forehead. I tighten my hold on him enjoying the warmth he was providing.

"Morning Shirley," I nod greeting one of the many nurses who I've come to know so well from my many visits.

"And I promised Erin that I would come see her soon sooooo why not now?" Frank pats my cheek sweetly and then let's his hand slide down and linger on my shoulder for support.

"She's in there now with my nephew, he's come all the way from New York, or the big apple as they call it, to come visit for a few months but just go in she's been asking after you for awhile now, I'm sure she'll be ecstatic to see you," patting my cheek once more he walks off with Nurse Shirley.

Looking through the glass window on the door, my eyes immediately look with Erin's bright blue ones. I watch as her eyes widen in excitement and her pupils dilate.

Before opening the door I can hear her shouting my name with happiness laced in her words and care wrapped in her tone.

As soon as I open the door she's already running at me with full speed.
Crouching down I wait for her with open arms, when she lands safely in my arms I wing her around holding her tightly as if she could just disappear any moment now.

"Easy there tiger, someone's excited to see me," I can't help but let my smile grow wider at the sound of her innocent childlike giggles.

It was...refreshing?

"I missed you silly! Did PawPaw tell you I have been waiting for you to come and visit me?" I nod whilst stroking her cheek fondly.

"Did you bring the stuff?" She whispers with another giggle following after.

"Of course I did, how could I forget my beautiful Princesses goodies?" Every time I visited Erin I would always bring her princess themed goodies so she could feel like the beautiful Princess she is, in my eyes.

It made my heart swell with happiness everytime her eyes would light up with joy at such a simple gift.

Erin likes it when I play along with her and pretend that I snuck her goodies in as if they were a top secret present.

"Here you go Princess Erin, this is all yours, I made all your favourites too Rapunzel braids, princess popcorn, princess wands and some pink lemonade," if you're wondering Rapunzel braids are cinnamon pretzels which are shaped like a braid, princess popcorn is pink coloured sweet popcorn and princess wands are fruit kebabs with star shaped pineapples on the top.

When I let her down, I only then noticed the nephew that Frank had been talking about, how had I not noticed him earlier?

I STILL, for some damn reason couldn't help but compare him to Valentino.

He is handsome but not steal your breath handsome like Valentino. He's got more of a sweet boy next door kind of look going for him.

His hair was a mixture of light brown and darker chocolate curls, light brown eyes, a long but perfectly pointed nose, pink full lips and slightly tanned skin.

He stood taller than me at 6 foot 1, with a lazy smile on his face as his eyes bored into mine.

It was when our eyes connected, that it finally dawned on me that I had been staring. Clearing my throat my gaze moves to a spot on the floor as I feel my cheeks begin to heat up in embarrassment.

Trust me to make a great first impression.

"Like what you see?" My mouth closed and opened like a fish, what is going on with me?

I felt my cheeks grow warmer if that was even possible right now.

Then something made me click, the fact that he had that same cocky confidence as Valentino made my skin crawl.

I didn't need to come into contact with another guy like him.

Guessing by the way the smile slipped off his face and a frown replaced it, the thoughts of Valentino must have left my face set in a glare of some sort.

"I'm sorry if I came off as being cocky, that totally wasn't me back there. I-gosh, that was really lame wasn't it. Can I - let me start over," suddenly he turned his back facing me.

What in the world?

A smile slips onto my face when he turns around and holds his hand out, a dashing smile on his face.

He was literally trying to start over.

"Hi my name is Liam Moss, lover of writing poetry, indie cafés, music and as of recently, guys who can bake," I chuckle at his attempt of flirting.

"Nice to meet you Liam, I'm Jax lover of baking what a surprise, modern family, there's just something about Phil I love, oh and as of recently guys with cheesy pickup lines," I watched as Liam broke out into genuine laughter, wow he's really handsome, like seriously.

Wait.

I just flirted!

And it wasn't awkward, go me!

Why did that come so naturally to me?

"Speaking of cheesy, I don't know if you know but I'm visiting from the states so I'm in need of a tour guide, how about you tell me about some great places to visit over dinner?" Smooth, real smooth.

"I'll do you one better, how about you come down to my bakery and I'll bake something special for you?" Holy moly, I did it again!

"You really know how to please a man don't you?" He smirked wiggling his eyebrows.

"Well, if you stick around you'll get to see just how well, I can please a man," I watched as his eyes widened in surprise, heck even mine did!

He let out another orgasmic laugh and I couldn't help but feel some sort of pride knowing that I'd made him laugh like that.

"I like you Jax, take my number so we can arrange things better. I want to get to know you, you interest me," I nodded not knowing what to say.

It had been so long since someone had been interested in me, or well it had been so long since I had allowed someone to be interested in me.

By the time we had finish exchanging numbers Erin had set up for our film time. This time we decided to watch Monsters Inc and Monsters University.

I loved both, a lot.

"Do you mind if I join you guys? Or would I be imposing on your quality time?" Erin and I looked at each other, giggling a silent agreement happening.

"No boys allowed!" We reply at the same time.

"Oh please, oh please Princess Erin, may I have the pleasure of spending more time fawning in your beautiful presence," he even was a charmer when it came to kids, would you look at that.

Erin sat with her finger on her cheek, tapping it as if seriously thinking about her choice.

A smile blossoms on her face as she holds her finger in the air as if having a eureka moment.

"Only if you give Prince Jax and me a kiss on the cheek," little evil princess say what?

Before I had a chance to react, Liam had swooped in and kissed me softly on the cheek and then Erin before settling on the left side of her bed.

Unlike Erin my cheeks were once again pink and I knew, she knew what she was doing because as soon as the film began she turned to me winking before giving the film her full focus.
