Chapter 8 - Official Love

~ 3rd Person POV ~
Once the next day rolled around the woke up next each other and smiled
"so when are you leaving?" Gary blinked
"maybe tomorrow" he shrugged sad
"it's going to be fine, I'll keep in contact with you" Gary smiled
"I don't know" the boy frowned
"you'll be just fine, I promise" he chuckled
"I gotta do something, I'll see you later okay?" Gary smiled getting up
"can I come?" the boy blinked
"n-no!" Gary blurted out
"I mean, it's just that . . . it's something for you and I don't want you to see it" he fidgeted with his fingers
"okay" Ash smiled understandably as Gary got some clothes for a quick shower

~ Gary's POV ~
Ash had mentioned to me he didn't have a starter yet, so I went to search for an egg and I know exactly what I want it to hatch into . . . a Pichu!

Ash will love it and I'm positive of it!
I spent sometimes scanning through some eggs and then some man approached me asking me what I'd like and of course I told him I wanted a Pichu and he gladly lead me to some of the eggs and explained the time period they'd hatch in and since Ash wants to leave tomorrow I picked one that'll hatch tomorrow

I then was on my way to buy a box for the egg and I'm so excited to see his face when it hatches and I really do hope he likes it

~ Ash's POV ~
I was sitting in the table outside the lab I sighed and took a sip of the tangy orange juice I had in hand as the wind flew through my hair
"Ash?" I heard Crystal's voice
"hm?" I smiled turning to her
"are you Gary's boyfriend?" she tilted her head
"uhm" I cleared my throat and felt myself turn redder than a tomato

I mean I don't even know myself, maybe yes? Not sure he hasn't specified it to anything

"uhm, not sure" I finally replied after a bit of silence
"well, you should be" she smiled then continued
"he likes you a lot he probably even loves you" she smiled
"he looks at you differently if you know what I mean" she giggled
"Crystal please" I giggled myself blushing more
"ask him! You're leaving in the morning mindless well tell him how you feel and if you are actually boyfriends" she smiled
"but how? I'm shy and–" I then got cut off

"Ash! Crystal!" Gary smiled with a bag in his hand
"h-hey Gary!" I smiled
"what's in the bag?" Crystal cooed
"something" Gary blushed making me smile and blush myself

"it's for Ash" he stuck his nose the air and walked in the lab as Crystal and I followed
"don't you think it's too early to propose to Ash?!?" she shouted giggling and I'm more than sure it was on purpose
"Crystal!!" we both blushed
"just saying" she shrugged
"Crystal mind going somewhere over there" Gary waved a hand around and went upstairs
"hmph! Treating me like a little kid!" she stomped off as I followed Gary upstairs

"so is that what you were so mysterious about?" I giggled at the entrance
"yup" he smiled
"I'll give it to you tomorrow!" he winked and bopped me on the nose
"want to go for lunch or something?" he ruffled my hair
"uh sure!" I smiled

Gary took me out for ice cream and I thanked him like always
"Gary?" I blinked
"yeah?" he smiled
"what are we?" I gulped
"not even sure" he shook his head
"oh" I looked down
"Ash, you think your mom would accept you if we were to be a couple?" he blinked at me seriously
"not sure" I shrugged

~ Gary's POV ~
I sighed at his response then he spoke up again
"G-Gary I really don't care!" he blurted out
"I-I love you and I don't care if my mom approves or not, I-I want to be with you!" he got up from the bench making me smile
then we both turned as people were looking at us

Sure enough those people were judging making me uncomfortable but Ash was right who cares
"I-I don't care either Ash" I smiled getting up and giving him a passionate kiss

We pulled back and he took a deep breath satisfied as always
he then turned to the people and scowled
"never seen two boys kiss? Weirdos" Ash scowled and grabbed my hand as we left
I chuckled and laughed as well
"I was harsh wasn't I?" he laughed
"yup" I smiled

"but I'm being honest Gary" he stopped in his tracks as we were in front of a tree
"I want to be with you I really do" he smiled with a light blush
"me too" I smiled
"so . . . you want to be my boyfriend?" I chuckled
"of course I do loser!" he chuckled giving me a hug
"you're the loser dummy" I chuckled

~ Ash's POV ~
As always we were in Gary's bed and he of course had his arms around my waist and his chin on my shoulder
"Gary will you visit me when I'm in my journey?" I asked
"I will try Ash" he smiled ruffling my hair

"I'm just asking, because days like today that you have them off so maybe we won't be too separated you know?" I smiled
"well aren't you keeping tabs on me" he smirked cocky
"I-I am not!" I pouted
"I'm just kidding" he chuckled into my shoulder

"we'll never be distant from each other I promise my love" he bopped me on the nose
"my love?!?" I blushed
"awh does my cute little boyfriend hate his pet name?" he pouted

"I don't hate it, it's just weird to be called things like that I'm new to this you know" I giggled
"yeah I know what you mean" he nodded
"let's sleep, I got your surprise ready for you tomorrow from when you leave" he kissed my cheek
"okay okay" I giggled

"goodnight Ashy boy" he ruffled my hair
"goodnight Garebear" I giggled and gave him a quick peck on the lips as he rolled his yes at his new pet name.
