– Time Skip 1-2 Days –
~ Ash's POV ~
I took a rest stop at Jubelife City and was at the Pokémon Center I got some supplies and was about leave until a familiar voice called my name
"Ash!" it said brightly
I turned and saw Dawn
"hey Dawn!" I smiled
"Piplup!" Piplup chimed standing Proud as ever
"hey Piplup" I smiled
"Pichu!" Pichu chimed as they started taking to themselves
"so what are you up to?" Dawn smiled at me
"I was on my way to Oreburgh Gym what about you?" I smiled
"I'm competing in the Jubelife Contest tomorrow!" she said excitedly
"Contest huh" I thought to myself
"you should compete!" Dawn smiled brightly
"it'll be good experience for your Pokémon!" she added with a knowingly smile
"hm, am I late for registration?" I tiled my head
"of course not! I just registered let's go!" she grabbed my hand and I went to get registered
"I'll give you a few pointers on what you should do!" Dawn smiled
"okay thanks, what are these?" I held up a capsule
"simple!" Dawn got one out herself
"so what you do is put an effect on it" she held up sticker like figures
"like this one has stars" she placed it on her Pokéball
"okay! Togepi spotlight!" she threw it up in the air and out came Togepi with stars surrounding her
"Toge! Togepi!" she chimed and made a presentable appearance
"wow" I smiled
"pretty cool huh" she giggled
"yeah" I smiled as she continued giving 'pointers'
"okay now you try and make a performance stage presentation!" Dawn smiled as she had demonstrated a Coupel of hers
"okay!" I went to a place on the field and returned Aipom and Buneary in their Pokèballs and put a pedal sticker on them
"okay Aipom and Buneary come on out!" I chimed as a heart made out of pedals shot out of their ball and they came out presentable of their Pokèballs
"Ai!"
"Bun!"
the two said
"okay Aipom spin and use swift!" I called out
"Aipom!"
"Buneary ice beam!" I called out as the shining stars became shining ice stars
"now have fun!" I chuckled as they started jumping on the frozen swift making them look like they were dancing I love it
"lastly, Aipom tail whip! Buneary dizzy punch!" I called out as they did as I said and sparkles filled us and they jumped and stood in front of me and we all bowed
"excellent!!" Dawn clapped
"it's amazing! I'm sure we'll both get through the performance round!" she chimed
"I hope so!" I giggled
"let's get you a performer outfit!" she grabbed my hand once more and we went to a mall
"this is too fancy" I blushed in the mirror
"no it's not! You're supposed to look this elegant" Dawn giggled
"hm fine" I sighed at the blue royal outfit
A/N: this is the outfit he wore in the episode in XY where he went to the dance with Miette and was going to dance with Serena btw. 😂
anyways–
"thanks a lot Dawn, I'm really excitedly compete tomorrow" I smiled
"no need to worry! I'm glad we got sometime to talk and you know hang out" she smiled as I nodded smiling
– Time Skip To Later That Night –
"hey Gary guess what?!?" I smiled at him as we did our daily FaceTime
"what?" he let out a chuckle
"I'm entering the Jubelife City Pokémon Contest tomorrow!" I chimed
"oh really? That's great! . . . but I thought you were into gym battles" he tilted his head
"I am, but Dawn told me to enter, she told me I'd be a good experience for my Pokémon not just that now that I think of it, I can use coordinating skills into my battling strategies" I smiled then pet Pichu who came next to me and looked at the screen tilting his head slightly
"well aren't you smart" Gary smirked
"oh shut up" I stuck my tongue out at him
"you're adorable" he chuckled
"I am not" I pouted
"are too" he smiled
"am not"
it kept going back and fourth like that till we got tried
