Hello! I've gotten a few comments about this so I thought I would try and explain as much as I can.

I've been thinking about this for a while so I think I've got a good way to explain it. For example we will be using Kokichi and Shuichi because they are our main focus.

If someone such as Maybe Miu tried to kill Shuichi who is in Kokichis body
Kokichi would be technically dead. Shuichi would most likely be transferred back to his own body and Kokichi would just be dead.

Now with this certain motive if you were to try and kill Shuichi in kokichis body Shuichi would be able to witness it all and live to rat you out and get you executed. This exact motive wants the culprit to think hard and smart so you don't get caught in the act.
