Steve's POV
Once I eventually got her to calm down, I told her to go take a shower and relax a bit.

It took around another hour after she'd done that to convince her that Bucky wouldn't be here if he was dangerous.

"Steve you don't understand that is traumatising! I wake up screaming I get panic attacks I cry I- I just I'm broken!" She said in a hurt voice.

I honestly didn't know what to do. I didn't see how she would be able to forgive him but then again what else can we do.

"Look I know I know how hard this is I know that your scared of him and before you say anything you have every right to be ok? You think he did this willingly but he didn't and you more than anyone should understand that hydra can make you do things you don't want to do. They did this not him. So if you want to be mad at him that's ok but remember that he was hurt too. He was there prisoner too. They used him to hurt you he had no clue what he was doing at the time. So I am begging you to try and forgive him. He is my best friend I have known him for over ninety years and he would not be here if he was a bad person. He would not be here if he could do this to someone while he is conscious about his decisions."

Y/n's POV

I paused just looking at Steve.

He had a point.

A very valid point.

Bucky was a prisoner too they took him and made him someone who did that. Maybe I could move on.

"Promise he didn't do it o-on purpose tha-that's not him anymore?" My voice barely above a whisper.

"I swear to you he has been away from them for 2 years now and he isn't like that." Steve said offering a small smile.

I took a really deep breath "ok"

"Ok?" He asked

"I want to talk to him but I c-can move forward"

Steve's face looked utterly shocked like he really didn't expect me to say that.

"Re-really that's- wow very mature of you, thank you thank you so much!" He exclaimed pulling me into a hug.

Steve went to go tell Bucky that you wanted to talk. Bucky was sceptical because he hated what he'd done to you but Steve managed to convince him.

"I'll leave you two alone for a bit" Steve said as he walked out the door.

Bucky stood in the door way of the living room and you were sat on the couch again.

"I am so so unbelievably sorry I really I didn't know and I would never hurt someone again I don't know what I can do to make you forgive me but I just I- " Bucky began but stopped when you cut him off.

"It's ok" you whispered

"No it's not that that's not ok" he now had tears streaming down his face.

Taking a deep breath you got off the couch and walked over to him, he looked at you confused and then was shocked as you wrapped him in a hug.

"If Steve says you won't hurt anyone then I trust you. We were both prisoners of hydra we can help each other" you said into his shoulder.

"But but I hurt you that is a terrible thing that I did" he said pulling back slightly.

You kept your arms around his neck showing that you trusted him "hydra did that to me ok I can tell how sorry you are so there is no point in me being mad or upset with you"

He pulled you back into a tight hug "thank you thank you"
