Rick and Ardeth are arming themselves to the teeth. Rick suddenly looks around. "Here" he says and hands Ashley a sniper. Ashley takes a deep breath. "Don't worry, you can do this" he says. "But for safety, stay at the back. Promise?" He lifts Ashley her chin. Ashley nods. "You hear that" she asks. "What" asks Ardeth. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's dead silent. I've never heard a jungle so quiet." Rick and Ardeth share a nervous look with Ashley. Evelyn and Jonathan are locking and loading rifles. Jonathan sees something and brushes back the foliage. A dozen shrunken heads dangle from a pole. Jonathan's eyes widen. "I say, look at this, shrunken heads" Jonathan says and looks closer. "I'd absolutely love to know how they do that.." In unison, Rick, Evelyn, Ashley and Ardeth all give him a look. "Jonathan looks indignant." "Just curious." "Voodoo," says Ashley spooky. Jonathan hefts a long rifle. Ardeth looks at him. "Are you any good with that?" Jonathan looks outraged at him. "Three time Fox and Hound Grand Champion, I'll have you know!" He fumbles with the rifle, almost drops it. "That was of course before I started drinking." "Good cause the only way to kill an Anubis warrior," says Ardeth and places his scimitar on Jonathan his neck. "Is to cut off his head." "Point taken" says Jonathan nervous and looks at the sharp blade on his neck. Rick steps up to Evelyn and Ashley; "You remember everything I've taught you over the years?" Evelyn looks him in the eyes. "I won't miss." Ashley places her sniper down on the cliffs. "Don't forget to exhale while you shoot" he says to Ashley and straightens her loop. "And place it on the shoulder," he says to Evelyn. Rick and Ardeth hear the screams. And then the gentle breeze starts to whistle around them. The two men look at each other. Eyes of fire. Rick lifts the two revolvers in his hands and nods his head. Ardeth lifts a machine gun in one hand and a sword in the other, and nods back.They both take off running through the jungle. Full bore. Evelyn hefts the rifle to her shoulder and adjusts the sight. "Ash, Jon?" They both look up. "That is my husband and my son down there. Make me proud." "And my boyfriend," says Ashley and looks through the scope. "today, is that day," says Jonathan sincerely. Rick and Ardeth crash through the jungle, coming up on the caravan from the rear.Rick spots Alex. Lock-Nah is also heading for Alex. And he's only ten feetaway. Alex sees him coming. His eyes widen in terror. Lock-Nah withdraws his razor-sharp scimitar. Sniper bullets fly through the air. Alex backs away from Lock-Nah, who is still coming at him, but starting to lose him in the exploding frenzy. Rick stares at his boy. His eyes are never leaving Alex. Rick and Ardeth sprint into the frenzy, cutting down black and red turbaned men with equal speed, like two human scythes. Rick goes empty, he tosses his pistols. Several black turban men turn to shoot him, but are suddenly shot off their feet because up above the rocks Jonathan, Evelyn and Ashley are firing round after round. Perfect precision. Completely emotionless. they're actually clearing a path for Rick and Ardeth Bey, shooting men out of their way. O'Connell grabs a shotgun shouldered across his back, whips it forward and charges for Alex. Lock-Nah swings his scimitar down at Alex with all his might. Alex screams. The scimitar prangs off Rick's shotgun. Rick scoops Alex up on the run. Doesn't even slow down. Lock wants to chase them but a bullet from Ashley her sniper pierces his upper arm. Groaning he drops his weapon. Lock-Nah spins around and is about to throw his scimitar at Rick his back, when Ardeth leaps out of the fray and the two men immediately go at it. All the other men are screaming, running, shooting and dying. Rick throws Alex up over his shoulder. Alex is now looking back. His eyes pop wide "Dad behind you" he yells. Rick spins around, sees two hideous pygmy skeletons hot on their tail. He lifts his shotgun and fires. Both barrels.Point-blank. Blows the pygmy skeletons to smithereens. It doesn't take long before two replace them. "Oh come on" yells Rick. The two monkey skeletons explode screaming. Rick looks to Ashley and grins. "Auntie Ash is so cool" sighs Alex. "You don't even know half" laughs Rick while running. Ardeth and Lock-Nah are fiercely battling away. Scimitar against scimitar. Ardeth is clearly more pissed-off, more aggressive. He spins around and slices Lock-Nah's chest, then uppercuts him across the stomach. Lock-Nah drops to his knees, mortally wounded. Ardeth stares down at him. "That was for Horus." He turns around staring in an enemy his face. His scream is interrupted in a painful groan. His weapon drops. A bullet wound is pierced between his eyes. Ardeth looks to Ashley who looks up from her sniper and exhales. Ardeth grins and runs further. "Let's go" says Evelyn. Ashley stands hastily up. Jonathan lowers his rifle, a complete emotional wreck. "Thank God." They head off down the rocks. "Great shooting, Ash" cheers Rick and hugs Ashley. Ashley smiles and looks at Ardeth who comes galloping up. "You are leaving again" she asks. Pain reflects in her eyes. Ardeth sighs. He bends forward to kiss her but she turns her head. "I must stop Anubis his army." She nods and walks away. Ardeth reaches into his pocket and flips something to Rick. Rick gives him the death stare. "Forgive me my friend and take this" says Ardeth. "Not sure I can forgive you this time" he says and whispers. "You called her your princess and now you leave again? For what? For another seven years? You cannot keep destroying her heart. Just like that." Ardeth swallows. "I want to be with her. But I must stop Anubis his army. Otherwise, there is no chance for either of us." Rick sighs. "Just come back faster than the previous time." Rick checks the present he gave out. It's a beautiful gold brand with a precise masonic Templar logo gorgeously welded onto it. "Burn it into your son's arm.He has earned it." Rick gives him a look like he's out of his mind. "Maybe where you come from." Ardeth rears his horse. "I must go and signal my men." Rick starts to hand Ardeth his shotgun."Take this." Ardeth shakes his head. No, there is only one way to kill an Anubis warrior." "You must take off it's head. Heya". "Good luck, my friends" He gallops of . Ashley, Rick, Evelyn, Jonathan and Alex suddenly hear the sound of hissing pygmies, coming fast. "Time to go" says Rick. They all turn and haul-ass into the jungle. Ashley, Rick, Evelyn, Alex and Jonathan race through the jungle. The horrific sound of pygmy skeletons following them fills the air. They look back and see a huge horde chasing after them. Evelyn throws her rifle away. So does Jonathan. Everyone is trying to run faster. Rick spots the tip of the gold pyramid, they're closer now, maybe only a mile away. They race out across a huge log spanning a deep ravine. On the other side, Rick skids to a stop, frisks himself, and pulls out a lone stick of dynamite. The pygmy skeletons start to race across the log. Rick lights the fuse an inch from the dynamite, then tosses it to the first skeleton and runs like hell. The pygmy skeleton grabs the dynamite. The dynamite explodes. The log and the skeletons are blown apart. Rick runs up to the others, all breathing hard. "Alright, I think we made it." And that's when another horde of the hideous pygmy skeletons sprints out and forms a blockade in front of them. One of the pygmy skeletons races straight at Alex, Hissing horribly, spear in hand. Alex holds up his hands to defend himself. The pygmy skeleton skids to a stop, Hissing. The beast sees that Alex is wearing the bracelet around his wrist. He backs down and hisses to his buddies. , They all hiss in fear, which sounds really creepy and horrible, then they back away and vanish into the jungle. Rick, Ashley, Evelyn and Jonathan are shocked and relieved. Alex grabs Rick his arm and starts tugging him forward.
"C''monl Dad! C'monl We have to get to that pyramid! I have to get the bracelet off!" Jonathan waves him off, totally exhausted. "Leave it on, Alex, it looks good on you." "Relax, buddy, we'll get there." "No you guysl You don't understand! He told me the bracelet will kill me if I don't get inside the pyramid before the sun hits it.  Today. " The O'Connell's, and Jonathan all immediately realize the implications. They quickly look off towards the surrounding mountains. The sun is just about to crest the east face."Oh my God" whispers Evelyn. Ashley grabs Alex his arms and starts running with him towards the pyramid. "C'MON" yells Rick. Everyone starts to run. Blasting through the jungle as fast as they can. Rick looks up. The sun starts to chase them. Ashley falls down. "Auntie" says Alex. "Go" she yells and pushes him further. Rick and Alex run faster and faster. Alex starts to collapse in pain. Rick scoops him up and runs faster, he races across a clearing and dives through one of the many arched entryways just as the sun strikes the huge gold pyramid, causing a blinding flash of light.
Rick and Alex lie on the floor, exhausted and panting. "Ya know, it's hard being a dad." "Alex looks over and grins at him." Yeah, but you do it real good." Evelyn, Ashley and Jonathan stagger out of the jungle and into the clearing. Evelyn smiles as she sees Rick and Alex safe inside the pyramid. Jonathan just stares up in wonder at the huge gold monolith. Ashley smiles. "They made it."
Evelyn hears something and turns around. Anck is right there. She drives a dagger into Evelyn's stomach. Evelyn doesn't even scream, just stares at Anck, incredulous. Jonathan spins around. Imhotep grabs him by the throat lifts him up and throws him across the clearing. "No" yells Ashley and jumps on Imhotep. He instantly catches her. They both fall to the ground. She hits his nose and looks to the book of death that fell out of his hands. She hastily crawls to the book but he pulls her back. "Rick" yells Ashey. She grabs the knife that Ardeth gave her still on the airship. With a swift movement, she struggles against Imhotep his arms and throws it towards Anck. The blade lands deep in her left shoulder. She screams loudly. "Anck Su Namun' yells Imhotep and looks angry at Ashley. He grabs her in his strong arms and lifts her off the ground. "No" she screams but he places his hand over her lips. Anck Su Namun pulls the dagger out and lifts the book. "Stupid girl" she laughs and walks towards the pyramid. "Ashley" yells Rick and then he sees Evelyn. He jumps to Evelyn. "No" he yells. Ashley tries to fight the grip of Imhotep but it is hopeless. He pulls her inside the temple.
The high priest and Anck Su namun hold her tight while Imhotep grabs her jaws. "Let go of me" she yells loudly. "You have spirit" Imhotep says and then looks deep in her eyes. "You my child are my destiny" Ashley looks him in the eyes. "Liar" she curses. "It was foretold that the sister would be the one who could grant me my eternal power. Imhotep looks at her and grins. He then backhands her. As she falls down Imhotep rubs her face. "So pretty, so strong" he says and walks off while the high priest lifts Ashley.
