"Elsie!"

Both Elsie and George turned to look at me as I spoke. I hurried over, holding Leah's hand, but I let go when I reached my oldest daughter.

"Mummy." Elsie cried and reached out her hands. She wrapped them around my neck as I pulled her close and held her in my arms, before I looked at George.

"I thought she was yours." He nodded. "I recognised her from that photo in your office."

"What happened?" I asked. "What are you even— what're you doing here?"

"My daughter goes to school here." He said and I looked at the little girl as he placed a hand on her head and pulled her closer to his body. "She's friends with your daughter, it seems."

I nodded slowly as I had a hand against Elsie's head while she rested her head on my shoulder and cried.

"She was being pushed around on the playground by some of the year six kids."

"Year six?!" I exclaimed but took a deep breath, not wanting to yell. "A bunch of ten year old kids pushed my seven-year-old around on the playground?"

"Roxi here is the one who noticed." George told me and I looked down at his daughter and smiled back when I saw the way she was smiling up at me. Then I looked at George again. "I have their names written down in case you want to contact their parents."

He dug into his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, handing it to me.

"Thank you." I breathed. "How did you get their names?"

"He threatened to beat their butts." his daughter said, and I looked at her as George wrapped an arm around her head to clamp his hand over her mouth.

"I kindly asked them." George shrugged, looking at me. "Surprisingly they agreed just like that."

I chuckled.

"You're insane."

"He's always been like that." His daughter said again, and while I laughed, George gasped and looked down at her.

"Girl, what are you doing? Go wait in the car with Freddie."

What was his daughter called...

Roxanne?

Right.

Roxanne scowled up at George before she stamped over to a grey car that was parked by the side of the road.

"You drive?" I asked and looked at him.

"Yeah." He chuckled. "I decided to get a muggle license when my son revealed that he doesn't like apparating."

I nodded and let Elsie slid down my body to stand on her own two feet. George and I both watched as Leah handed Elsie a rock that she had just found on the ground.

"Thank you Leah." Elsie said softly, wiping her cheeks.

I smiled before looking up at George again.

"I didn't know your daughter went to school here." I said. "Or that her and Elsie are friends."

"I didn't know that your daughter went to school here." He said, tilting his head before he nudged me with his elbow. "You doing okay? After the call earlier?"

I looked down at the ground for a moment before I nodded and looked at him again.

"I'm gonna go home, get Elsie cleaned up and then see if I can find out if he..." I sighed and George nodded, understanding what I was trying to say.
